My teen had a 6 drawer dresser for her clothes, but wanted a change. She found it was hard to see which clothes she had at the bottom of her drawers, & did not have enough drawer space. I purchased a cube organizer for another kids' room, but felt she needed something different, so I started scrolling on Amazon to figure out WHAT would work for our purpose.After reading reviews & checking out dimensions of various bookcases, I ordered this bookcase.DIMENSIONS:HEIGHT- 70 1/2"WIDTH- 47 1/3"DEPTH- 10 1/3"SPACE BETWEEN SHELVES- approx. 14 1/2"The TOTAL DEPTH, INCLUDING the back support braces & the metal frame, is 11 7/8" deep, which I mention because the braces make it stick out a bit further & the metal frame also adds depth, so you want to make sure you have room for that extra depth required.Before assembly, I made sure ALL of the pieces were there (they were!) as I sorted them out to make assembly quicker & easier. I also checked for damage & ALL pieces looked GOOD.Assembly went well & took about 45 minutes, part of which accounts for me having to unscrew one side piece, which was actually 2 pieces screwed together, to turn it the same way as the other side. Lesson learned. It would not have been a big deal, BUT I wanted the screw heads to be facing the same way. I was half tempted to leave them, but opted not to.ALL of the pieces LINED UP, except ONE minor issue I found with ONE screw hole in the connector bracket that slides into each of the 2 piece end frames, to make them one piece. ONE screw hole was slightly off, so I made sure to screw that one in FIRST, & the bolt went in 100% without any issue. The other bolt in that connecting bracket also went in just fine, even though the other screw hole was slightly off, it did NOT impact the other side. I had NO other issues with assembly.To speed up the process, I used a drill with a screw driver bit to screw the bolts in almost to the max, & then hand tightened them the rest of the way so I did not accidentally strip the bolt heads since I was using an impact driver that has a lot of power.The BOOKSHELF is BEAUTIFUL & serves its purpose VERY well in the bedroom. My teen can fit ALL of the clothing from the drawers on the shelves, PLUS a small stereo, a couple of photos/box signs, etc.For the items that would not stack well, we used fabric bins & plastic buckets to hold them... items like under garments, socks, hair bands, etc.The shelving unit comes WITH fabric straps to attach it to the wall, which we are going to do because we have young kids in the home, who tend to climb, scale, etc. things like furniture, shelves, etc. That is on hubby's TO DO list.The shelving unit is BEAUTIFUL & STURDY. The shelves are HIGH QUALITY and are like the THICK laminated shelves you buy at the local hardware store to mount with wall brackets.My teen LOVES how NICE this shelving unit makes her room look, & how EASY it is to find her clothes, etc. now.I am VERY happy with the shelving unit too. It is BEAUTIFUL & would match ANY room in our home.Next room I am looking for a shelving unit for is our family room. I wish this one would fit in there because it is everything we need for that room, except that it is a bit too wide for the particular space we have.I WOULD purchase it again.

The package arrived earlier than expected, a happy surprise right before Thanksgiving! It took me about 45-60 minutes to put it together, quite straight forward. If I have power tools, the process would be faster. I placed it on the corner of my living room. Now it is my favorite reading nook by the window. Just love it. The structure is quite sturdy, able to hold weights well. The simple chic design fits my interior nicely. Highly recommended.

So, first things first. One of the boards I received was chipped on the edge. It's just a laminate over the boards, not real wood. However, once the shelf is setup it does look good. This would probably be great for displaying varying nick-nacks or succulents. I bought this to hold and display my whiskey collection. Once you start adding some weight to this shelf, it get sketchy quick. Any time I grab a bottle off of the shelf, the whole unit rocks. I do not have it supported with the wall straps, but I can't really see them being much of a help. The vertical supports are 2 pieces stacked on top of each other. Once I saw that I knew this wasn't going to be super sturdy. The X bracket in the back really does nothing at all.If you're displaying light objects on it, that you won't be touching often this shelf will be great. If you are planning on adding some weight to it, get a sturdier shelf

Arrived in good condition, although sending via USPS isn’t a good idea currently, especially for a 65 pound box. Outside packaging was damaged but nothing was damaged on the inside. There were extra screws for all elements, which was great. All in it probably took over an hour to put together but all aspects were aligned perfectly. Just don’t tighten screws until finished assembling. The manufactured wood is very nice and a very warm color. It’s also very heavy. Highly recommend. Well worth the price.

So I wanted a shelf from target, it was listed at $400. Husband gave a hard no, told me to look on Amazon. Found this great dupe!! Took us 30 min to put together ourselves, I gave 4/5 stars for sturdiness because it is on carpet and even with all the weight there is a minor sway. BUT it looks fabulous and did exactly what I needed it too! Parts where all there. We did not put the X bars on the back because one of our sides was backwards - user error not product - and we were too lazy to fix it.
