STM Bags "Velocity Trestle" Backpack for 13-Inch Laptop - Navy

This is the third STM bag I have bought, STM has better design features than many others in my experience. My first was a Velo Messenger and the second a Alley sling bag to supplement my cabin bag on flightsI wanted to downsize my EDC work bag and selected the Trestle, because I want to reduce my carry weight in my very late 60s, still working abroad in strange places with sometimes questionable people, to paraphase the BBC's John Simpson.The Trestle is well-designed and a good fit on the back. I have returned it because my new computer does not fit into the Trestle, it is too 'tight'.That is not the reason for the three stars. Firstly, I think the external fabric is too 'smooth/fine' for be long-lasting, it needs a 'rougher' weave cloth, like the Alley and other models.Secondly, it is over-priced compared to other STM bags and yet it is smaller. I just do not see it standing up to the rigours of everyday travel and many flights.Another weakness is the elastic side pockets on some STM bags, not really useful without a restraining strap and/or nearby clip.I have returned the Trestle and bought the STM 15" Haven in Steel/Grey from another supplier, Amazon only has/had black. A review on that will follow later here, and on that supplier's site, suffice to say that I might be able to get two computers in the Haven if necessary (maybe just on flights).

I bought the STM bag for my Dell xps13 laptop. The laptop fits perfectly into the padded sleeve at the back of the bag. There is enough space for my wireless keyboard and mouse, plus docking station, power supply and variety of cables. There is also enough room for your lunch box, a drink and your raincoat. There is a good selection of pouches to keep everything separated and it's very comfortable to carry. Love this bag, go buy one.

I've had this bag now for about a year and it has been on a few hefty trips and used every day.I still keep looking for a more perfect backpack and have been through at least 10 and I still can't find better.The material is cotton, it feels much nicer than all others and is rainproof. It's extremely comfortable and has loads of little pockets so you won't lose anything. The only thing I was just a little disappointed in was the lack of colours, although the blue is really nice, they could have offered more I feel. But in the end I don't mind, it's a really solid bag, I couldn't do without it.

Perfectly sized commute bag for a 13inch ultrabook style laptop, cables, stationary and drink. Just enough compartments without being ridiculous. The 3 soft lined compartments for laptop, tablet and sun/glasses is a exceptional and one of the best I’ve seen. Everything seems snug and perfectly proportioned without being too small. it all sits very comfortably of your back. You could probably squeeze in a small pair of shoes if needed too.

My 2nd stm bag and just brilliant in terms of practicality and durability. My first one lasted 12 years and is still usable! It has so many compartments and books that are just extremely useful for all your devices as well as looking good and being extremely comfortable to wear. I have owned other supposedly outstanding device bags (crumbler etc) but none have come close to how pleasing the stm are to own.

Excellent bag, but no real benefit over my Velocity Prime, so returned. But you will not be disappointed with the quality and organisation area.
