Highwood AD-PORW1-ACE Weatherly Porch Swing, 5 Feet, Weathered Acorn

We just love this swing! it looks like real wood not cheap plastic and very comfortable. we are so glad we went with this swing and didn't have to kill a few trees to make it.so I have to update on this product... although I love the look and feel, it definitely looks like wood and feels like wood and not cheap plastic. BUT it is about 2 slates short on the seat and back. I am 5' 5" and it feels like it is too small. the back comes to mid back and the seat comes to mid thigh. almost feels like a child's swing. the ACTUAL dimensions of the seating area are 59W x 16.5 D x 17 H. nowhere near what was advertised.

We just hung our new porch swing this week, so while I can't attest to it's longevity, I'll comment on other things.As far as assembly goes, I took my time and did it by myself in about 20 minutes (I'm a middle aged woman with some common sense building skills). The hardest part of the assembly was getting the dogs off of it long enough to put together. I heeded the advise of other reviewers and didn't tighten any of the screws until it was fully assembled. This makes all the difference in the world for ease of assembly. Luckily, all the parts were in the box and the swing was in perfect shape.I got the whitewashed color and it's gorgeous! It looks very much like the images on the website.The swing comes with the appropriate chains for hanging. I would highly recommend getting heavy duty spring hangers (sold separately) to put above the chains. They are worth the extra money, as they make the swing easier to get on and off of and make the swinging more comfortable in general. One more note here: you can adjust the slant of the seat by how you attach your chains. There are instructions for this in the information included with your swing.We hung our swing under our bedroom deck using a 2" x 6" pressure treated lumber piece that runs the length of the deck which we screwed into the joists across the entire deck. It seems pretty secure, which is important.I purchased a seat cushion and pillows (sold separately) and have discovered that this bench swing isn't just great for sitting, but I actually SLEPT on it for a nap this afternoon. It was surprisingly comfortable. My swing is the longer one at five feet wide.I'm very happy with my purchase. I love porch swings and this one is a beauty.

I generally don't write online reviews. However, in this case I was so impressed that I felt it was important to do so for a few reasons. To be clear, I purchased the 5 Foot Highwood Weatherly Porch Swing through Amazon, not a third party seller.-1-The shipping carton arrived in perfect condition, thank you UPS. It was easy for two people to carry and even had cut-out carry handles built in.-2-The swing was very thoughtfully packed with thick foam panels glued to the inside of the box and surrounding all of corners of the swing.-3-The included chains to hang the swing were smartly packed in small burlap bags so they weren't clinking around in transit.-4-The material and craftsmanship were of the highest caliber, if I could afford to buy their larger sets I absolutely would.-5-It's Made in the USA and is a small, Pennsylvania based employer.Thank you Highwood!

We have lived in 7 houses in the 24 years we have been married. I’ve always wanted a swing but never seemed to have the right place to put one. We moved last summer and when I saw the patio under the deck I knew if we bought this house I’d finally be able to get a swing. This one is wonderful. Was easy to assemble and went up with no problems. The material is great. Similar to the Trex we used to make our deck in Massachusetts. Love that it will be very low maintenance. It’s comfortable to sit on and seems very sturdy. I thought the price was fair and found it to be considerably less than ones in a store I went to. Quick delivery.

We have an 11’ tall porch so I just assumed we would have to purchase extra chain, but it was the exact amount of chain with no excess. It has a very classy, rich look and so far feels very sturdy. Incredibly smooth material and the dark color with wood grain texture is beautiful. My husband said assembly was very easy however the only bit of caution is the bench didn’t line up exactly with the arm rest screw holes. He had to saw a little bit of the bench off to line up - since he has tools galore he said this was no biggie and the cut was perfect with this material. However, if you don’t have access to a handy man’s quick fix, you could be disappointed. Arrived in just a few days. I’ve been shopping around for the perfect swing for years and I’m glad I waited and picked this one. We love it!

A very sturdy well made swing. Looks beautiful and very comfortable. The only complaint I have is with the allen wrench. It didn't easily fit into the bolts making it time consuming and frustrating. Some went in easily and others you had to position just right. A minor issue now that's it put together. For reference I'm a 71 year old woman with arthritis and back issues. Best to leave bolts loose and tighten at the end. The chains are very strong and stainless steel. There are 2 long and 2 short chains but they're not the same lengths. Not sure why that is.Over all a great purchase knowing it should last much longer than the cypress, cedar or pressure treated swings I've had in the past. No more painting or staining. Love It!!

Giving it 5 stars for the quality of the swing itself.The assembly instructions were pretty weak, so do yourself a favor and only install the fasteners loosely as you go so you can manipulate things a little when it comes time to attach the arms.Also, there's a good chance that the supplied chains won't be long enough, so you may want to have a few extra feet on hand.
