Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

This is a beautiful edition, and was great to give my sister for Christmas (blue is her favorite color). However, the cover came with dirt on the cover that I couldn't remove, and it made me wonder whether it was a used book. The purchase I made said it was new. Otherwise, it is a beautiful cover, very soft, and she's excited to read it.

The edition is lovely, but the print is a bit too small for people who need reading glasses like me.

Listen…I don’t care about giving big publishing houses more money, but I think buyers should be made aware that this is an “independently published” version. Publishing houses spend money on font and format. This version does not. It gets the job done but for a few dollars more, you can have a legit copy that looks nice and is easier to read. It is too much hassle to return it, and again, the big publishers don’t need my dollars.

Classic novel. My daughter really enjoyed it!

This is a cheap print version of the book, the letters too small, probably to fit all the texts, even though the cover design may be appealing.

Little Women has something for everyone: love, family, friendship, grief, and more. It’s a story of four sisters and their experiences as they grow into adulthood. Each sister embodies womanhood in a different way, and they all feel so real and full of life.My favorite parts involve Jo because of her tenacity and sense of adventure. Plus, she’s witty and funny, which makes the prose jump off the page. I also enjoy how Alcott is able to give each of the sisters a deep, meaningful purpose. In a lot of novels from this period, only one female character tends to stand out. In Little Women, every single character is fully realized. It’s refreshing to read.For those who enjoy heartfelt stories about what it means to enter adulthood, Little Women will definitely earn your love. Also, if you tend to enjoy works about women, class struggles, and romance, you’ll like it, too.
