Iced
It is always a pleasure to read Felix Francis’ novels. None of them have quite come up to the standard of Dick Francis, but this was getting on that way. Characters as usual, our hero not quite the well heeled successful jockey he would like to be, but now, the love interest comes quite late on in the book, the villains are not so villainous towards our hero and he is cured of his hang ups. We get a lot of practical information about addiction as a bonus. Kept me hooked for a couple of afternoons when I should have been getting on with Christmas preps.

Lacks the magic his father produced.
Well written book. Not exciting. Much preferred Dick Francis. Will go back and re read Dicks books. Loved them all.

I have read every Dick/Felix Francis novel and enjoyed the majority. This latest book is good, but concentrates more on mental health issues than horse racing. I enjoyed Iced, but I miss the gritty racing stories that Dick Francis used to write. I didn't really like the last book Guilty Not Guilty, thought it was weak, but Iced is an improvement on that one.

Nothing Iced over!
Interesting storyline from Felix Francis based around the racing world but with a real twist. Covering many subjects including alcoholism mental health and PTSD with great understanding and knowledge. A very human story and well accomplished with a great storyline that really races along!!
