Beautiful and unique tone.
Fun to play, however block saddle broke minutes after I got it and it was in bad need of treble bleed circuit. I'll edit review after I get it home from the shop.Edit: I got her back from the shop. Switched out the standard treble bleed for something a bit better and had volume control adjustment. Sings so sweetly now! Love the tones possible on this one with the unique pick-up positions able by throwing that neck in there anytime. A definite recommendation.

Amazing value
I have wanted, since I was a kid, before I could even PLAY guitar, a Strat in Tri-Color Sunburst. So this year when I set out to get a Strat, after selling another instrument that was wonderful, but not QUITE there... I looked at some US stuff, some used stuff, some G&L (which is also excellent) but couldn't find anything in my budget that fulfilled the whole wish list.Then... on a Tuesday... I found this. I wondered why I had never seen it before, because it checked all the boxes, and finally learned it was because it was literally brand new THIS WEEK.Synchronized tremolo that stays in tune? Check. Although know that SOME sites out there are mis-identifying the saddles as bent-steel, they are not, they are block saddles (I don't care, since I will be installing a Fishman PowerBridge anyway).Great looking finish on a decently light-weight body (mine is under 8 pounds, just under)? Check. The tricolor sunburst I have always wanted.Neck that feels as good as anything on a US-made Strat with very well finished frets AND rolled fingerboard edges? YES! And the neck isn't too thick and isn't too thin. I would probably be fine if it were a little beefier, but then the guitar would be heavier, too. It feels comfy to me.Set up right out of the box? YES. I had to tweak the neck. I loosened it 1/8 turn because I like a TEENY bit more relief, but the way it was set up is probably perfect for most players out there. Finally, the one thing I thought I wouldn't get in this price range, Great sounding NOISELESS pickups. (They are literally more noise-free than the hum buckers in my other guitar, which is a super-high-end guitar costing 4 or 5 TIMES what this costs. It plays great, it looks fantastic. It sounds exactly like a Strat should with no noise. (The gig bag is "meh", this is the only reason it has 4.5 and not 5 stars). If you are looking at a US Strat, but can't quite spend all that $$$, this isn't just something to settle for. It is truly a worthy alternative. Is it as well-made, does it play as well, is it as solidly built as my Tom Anderson that costs so much more? Of course not. Will you be able to tell the difference in playability and sound between this and the US model that is similarly equipped that is twice the price? I am confident that for most of you reading this, the answer is no.This is a GREAT guitar. And an INSANE bargain.I came back here to add one thought/caveat... the treble bleed installed in this guitar is worthless. replace it with one that really works, and you will make the volume control actually useful!

American Quality
To put it plainly - I love this guitar.I have a 2008 American Standard Strat, and I truly feel this Mexican Player Plus measures up to it in every single way. The rolled fingerboard, the satin finish on the neck, the fretwork - it all adds up to an instrument that demands to be played and is impossible to put down.If you're on this page and reading this far, then you have already made up your mind about the bold finish. I think it's brilliant, and I hope Fender continues to push forward with new colors and styles in the coming years. (Even the splatter casters from the early 2000's looked good to me, though, so maybe I just have a thing for companies pushing boundaries.)This is a guitar you'll have for a lifetime, and never want to put down.
