Easy install
I bought this Thermostat because our old one was having issues and was not as user friendly as I would have liked. Plus the touch screen and WiFi capability with this Thermostat was a major selling factor. I don't know why people are having problems with this, It hooked up easily and was super easy to set...My existing system utilized a 4 wire cable with no C wire, which this unit really needs to work properly. This Thermostat can be wired with a 4 wire cable and a jumper, but it requires the fan to always run and I didn't want that.So I did some detailed investigating and upon close examination I noticed there was a 5th wire that was cutoff inside the cable outer insulation. So I just stripped back that cable insulation to expose the 5th wire. Then I cut all the other wires to match that wire. Now I went to the furnace and looked at the cable wire color connections and noticed the wire colors didn't match the connection letters.I unhooked all these wires and rewired it so the colors were as close to the connection color letter as possible since only one was connected correctly. So I matched Red to R, Yellow to Y... but C is always a black wire so I attached it accordingly. The other two I had to do Orange to G and Blue to W and marked them at the Thermostat accordingly with the stickers provided with the Thermostat. This may be more than some people would want to do though, just my anality. Finding that 5th wire saved me a lot of work trying to remove a four wire cable and install a 5 wire cable. Thankfully that 5th wire was there.

Don't buy it unless you are ok with WILDLY inaccurate temps.
This is a really nice looking thermostat, display is nice - though it won't stay active longer than 3 minutes, it goes black and does not display temp. The big problems are temp inaccuracy and wifi that won't stay connected. When your AC turns on, the display temp starts going up - by 5-6 degrees, do if it's really 75 in your house, it goes up to 81 - end result is the ac stays on too long, you get too cold. In my case it would cool down to 70 degrees before the thermometer was accurate again and shut it off. Per their tech support, (Chinese, no answer to emails until 2AM), it's a known issue that the thermometer rises and it takes a half hour before it's accurate again. My guess is that they have a component that heats up when it switches on and it's too close to the temp sensor. The wifi is just cheap crap it looks like, I have a very strong wifi setup that serves many other devices with zero issues - it's only 20 feet from this thermostat, everyone seems to have this issue. It does work intermittently so it's not a major issue - except that it keeps popping up an error on the screen - it's highly annoying. For me, a thermostat that doesn't know what temperature it is is kind of a problem, return time.

Impressive
This controller could run Nasa I think, well, OK, maybe not Nasa, but the setup options are truly impressive, every type of system you could think of to control, the settings are in there. It has so many options, you can get down into the "nitty gritty" stuff and at such a great price. Well worth the investment and once you get into the system setup, you'll see what I mean, setting minimum, maximum speeds, temps, variances, the fine tuning you can do is very impressive to me (ex IT Nerd/Geek) so that's probably why it thrills me so much.If you're not that way, I'll say this, was easy to connect to my system and configure. Getting the app on my phone, connecting it to the internet and now easily remotely monitoring, changing, etc., from my phone is a piece of cake. Additionally, programming it directly on the touchscreen is very easy. I highly recommend this if you're looking for a new or replacement thermostat.

I returned this. It would not work with my system. It seemed complicated.

Sub Par thermostat, but ok
I have owned the old thermostat version and then this new one. The older model lasted longer and gave better results, but constantly had issues as well.I like the look, but the performance of almost everything is sub par. If you haven't had problems, just wait, they will come.*Doesn't connect to wifi easily. On updates, all information is lost and wifi must be entered again. Wifi connection is spotty. It will connect and degrade as time goes on while other cheaper devices have no problem at all with connectivity.*Displayed temp is somewhat inaccurate*Registration of the unit must be completed again if it needs reset, which is more often than anyone will want to do because it loses this on updates.*Schedules are sometimes lost upon reset or any update. This is a no go for me. This information should be retained on the web server they have.*User password changes take days to complete and you will be locked out of your account for days. Any verification needed will take days and you will not be able to access your thermostat online during this period. Also, you will have to set everything back up if and when access is restored.*Customer service has become complacent. Replies come far too late.*Cheap components are used and touch screen is old tech which forces you to press hard for response.*Location services and functions of this unit are laughable and will not work, never has, including geolocation. Location for weather display doesn't work for this unit and displays inaccurate weather. I could get over this one, but why include it, if it doesn't work properly? To be fair, when this thing works, it's great, but it's not worth spending the time on it to get it there. Down times are consistent and disappointing, frustrating.Stay away. It's not worth the time or frustration. I am currently looking for a replacement because of this cheap unit that only works sometimes online. If I could, I would send out flyers to keep people from buying this unit.DO NOT RECOMMEND.Update: After spending hours trying to get the unit back online and the app to connect to it, I finally got it back up. But I had to select the incorrect model number for verification number needed to re-register. This disconnection from their severs happens too much and is the main reason of my frustration, as it is the main reason it is called a smart thermostat. Not being able to use those functions makes it useless to me and unjustifiable in cost. The company did contact me and apologized for an engineering error on thier side for this time. This problem coincided with the release of a new app version for thier new thermostat just released as I have found out through research. It is apparent from the past thermostat and now this one, that when they release a new one, they care less about supporting the ones prior.Update 7-13-22: After researching other smart thermostats I have come to the conclusion that they all have issues. I do like this one that you can change the deadband on and other advanced features I like to to have, and that it does not do the so called pre heat or pre cool which will cause your system to run more and not the temp you set it at.After long research I have decided to wait until a high end unit comes out with a smart thermostat. Many other reviewers of other name brand smart thermostats have similar or worst issues. I have changed to 3 stars because this may be the only option for the settings I want now.

Cool design
Had to wait for the right price but it was an easy set up. Very cool with the app.
