Beautiful looking and decent quality, but I expected better.
I recently built a new PC and went with a white theme for the first time. It looks great, but at the time it was hard to get a video card. I lucked out and was able to get a 3080 FE from Bestbuy to tide me over while I tried to get my hands on a white card that would better match my build. I love how the white Strix cards look, so once I was able to get one I bit the bullet and shelled out nearly $400 more than my FE cost to get this white Strix. The specs and reviews all make Strix out to be the best of the best, higher power limits, better build quality, superior cooling... So anyway... I got the card and was thrilled to hook it up. It's beautiful in my PC and much quieter than my FE model. I was very happy with my purchase at first....It took a couple months before I got a good feel for the card and felt I was ready to review it. In this time, I have grown fairly disappointed in the card. Memory temps started off in the mid 80's when mining or benchmarking/heavy gaming. Now the memory is hitting 100c with the fan set at 80% luckily the fans are much quieter that the FE which would be screaming once over 75% fan. The card has also been growing less stable. It tends to crash at times of heavy use occasionally even causing my PC to fully restart. These are both problems I didn't encounter in the 4 months I used my Founders 3080, I mean sure, the FE memory did run warm, I had the repad it, and after repadding it max's at 84c mem temp but it's also a much cheaper card that's got a fraction of the cooler this Strix has. As for stability, the FE was perfectly stable, even with moderate overclocking and heavy use. There was a time I had it mining ether while I was playing Fallout 4 and it was getting 87mh/s while running the game in 1440p with no issue. All said and done, I may have just lost the silicon lottery or just been real unlucky, but either way, I am not satisfied with a card that had a $1080 MSRP before tax. It should perform better than the Founders Edition card and the fact it doesn't is extremely disappointing. So, it looks very nice in a white build and the fans are reasonably quiet.

The I got GPU overheats doing basic tasks that its designed for
For the price I paid this shouldn't happen. GPU would overheat while gaming even on medium settings. I must have gotten a dud. Undervolting did not help.

White is cool but not enough vram
Really great since i can finally build an all white pc but for a 3080, kinda lacking on the graphics ram size.

Ridiculous price
Absurd price that takes advantage of the shortage.

$500 for white?
Great performance on card but way over priced due to color. There's no chance white paint should increase the cost by 40%.
