I live off grid and pump lake water to drink. While everyone assures me 'it's safe to drink right out of the lake'...I'm a little more cautious. This pump suits my needs perfectly. I like that you a good amount of water per pump. The water comes out crystal clear and tastes great. I bought another!Additionally, my Berkey now sits empty in the back room and I flip it off every time I walk by it. No more waiting an hour for a glass of water. It used to be an 'overnight' exercise to make enough fresh water for a jug of tang. (And I did change out the horribly expensive filters quite often trust me).I can't say how satisfying it is to be in control of how much fresh water I can get with just a few pumps on this pump style water filter!! I actually made 3 different jugs of 3 kinds of tang in one day!! Imagine the luxury and decadence!!!!!!
