Kitchen Knives - Stainless Steel Dishwasher Safe Set of 5 Knives plus Rod Sharpener

Update from 1 star to 4 stars: after the first wave, rusting stopped. It stayed limited to a few small spots. After multiple washes they are barely visible now, and I don't get any new rust spots. The knives are pretty good so far. I sharpen them every week or as needed and they've stayed pretty sharp.Original 1-star review: Rusted after first wash. Didn't matter if I washed by hand or in dishwasher, they just rusted.

I spent a lot of money on a Chicago Cutlery knife set, and within 3 years I had broken blades and cracked and broken handles. This was just under normal household usage. I needed to replace that set and wanted a set that was built for the dishwasher (who has time to hand-wash dishes anymore?). These were priced right and the reviews were good, so I thought I'd try them out. They arrived in great shape. They have a nice weight and sharp edges, and I couldn't be more impressed. I love it when I get a great buy! I also bought the Ashlar Steak knives, which I am equally pleased.

The packaging leaves little to be desired. They were a gift for someone, and when I received them, they were all crammed into a flimsy small box with a big "Made in China" sticker which I couldn't remove. I had to repackage them to make them look somewhat presentable. They seem to be ok knives, however. But I should have looked for a set in a nice presentation box.

I am rating this knife set as five stars because they are classy looking and fit my decor perfectly. They are also extremely sharp and cut well. However, time will determine how well they stand up to everyday use. They are a small footprint on my RV countertop in the Hiware Stainless Steel Knife Block. They do have somewhat of a "tinny" sound, but for the price, I am very happy with this purchase. I will update this review as needed.

Knife set seems to be pretty nice. The one piece construction is an asset but the handles are hollow making them a bit lighter than I would hope for.

These are very attractive knives, with a refined, brushed finish on handles shaped for comfort. I'm nobody's idea of a chef, so can't say how a professional cook would rate them, but I'm more than pleased, especially for the price. I've only had them for a few weeks and the story could be different a year from now. But I expect these knives will hold up. For now, I'm happy.

Very soft steel. Responds to magnets. If it is stainless as claimed, its not very good stainless. Requires regular honing to keep edge.Theyre perfect for keeping roommates or kids away from the good knoves.

Very clean, nice weight and packaged well. My only complaint is that one of the knives has a loose part in the handle that makes a rattling noise when manipulated
