Nice, compact, concise translations
Bought this for my son. The book allows you to go from / to Norwegian and English. Well organized book. Worth the money. It's nice to have a physical book.

Great little dictionary
This dictionary is perfect for what I bought it for: easy to read (words in blue, definitions in black), and it's quite small, so it fits easily in my jacket pocket. Langenscheidt has a good reputation, and this dictionary lives up to it.

Norwegian pronunciation lacking IPA
This is a good small English-Norwegian dictionary, and I always appreciate the vinyl cover from Langenscheidt. However, I was flabbergasted that while the Norwegian-to-English section uses the International Phonetic Alphabet to give the pronunciation of English words, the English-to-Norwegian section does not (it contains an alternative way of showing the pronunciation). For this reason, I give the dictionary 4 stars instead of 5.

a small, but really good dictionary
This is a very nice Norwegian dictionary. It has both Norwegian and English words. The words are in bold print and are easy to read. The Haugen dictionary is good, but it has only Norwegian/English, the print is smaller, and it is harder to read.

Best Norwegian Pocket Dictionary
Bought this when I realized my pocket Berlitz Norwegian-English dictionary didn’t even include some of the most basic words. This one is perfect & hasn’t failed me yet as a quick reference.

Not bad for the price but disappointed in pronunciation guides
In general I'm a big fan of Langenscheidt dictionaries. The tend to be well-designed, sturdy physical objects and this little dictionary is no exception. Before today every Langenscheidt dictionary I'd ever seen exclusively used IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) for pronunciation guides. This is something I value very highly. Unfortunately, this dictionary only uses IPA for the English. Had I known this before ordering, I wouldn't have bothered buying it.

Same as Berlitz: a life saver pocket Norwegian-English, English-Norwegian dictionary
I love the pronunciation guide which is not too technical. There are sections devoted to grammar, telling the time etc. Very compact. Lots of words- and probably enough words for any holiday in Norway.

Product not useful.
I ordered this book to help me translate words used in a genealogy book written in Norwegian and published in 1984. Easily 60% of the words I’ve looked up are not in this book. It is pretty much a useless purchase.

Buen diccionario de acuerdo al tamaño
It's a pocket dictionary as advertised, nevertheless is a good one, it has the most important words and it also has a small tourist guide in the back part, it covers the most commonly used phrases and other useful.

Small in size but very useful
I am very happy, I use it in class but also have it with me wherever I go. Small but very useful indeed.

Very compact and useful
Tempted to knock a star off because someone asked me what "fart" was and it wasn't in the dictionary but I'm not that immature honest.Book is tiny but this is excellent as it will travel well. Has phonetic pronunciation in English next to the Norsk too. Very handy.

This is a good pocket dictionary
This is a good pocket dictionary, but it is quite small and basic. It does have noun genders, but it classifies them as common/neuter/masculine instead of the more traditional feminine/neuter/masculine. It's got a handy mini grammar section at the back, including conjugations of some commonly used irregular verbs. I use it for reading while traveling, but do sometimes come up short on the vocabulary even at an intermediate level. If what you need is a quick reference or travel dictionary, this is a good choice.
