Getting the Most out of Your Cooler: For optimal temperature retention, we recommend that you pre-chill your cooler overnight in a cool place with bags of ice inside. If your cooler has been left in a warm location such as a vehicle, garage, or out in the sun, packing it without pre-chilling can lead to decreased performance. It is also recommended that you pre-chill cooler contents. Chilling or freezing beverages and food ahead of time will greatly increase ice retention. Able to retains ice up to 7 days (45Q size) when the ambient temperature is between 68-72 degrees Fahrenheit and lid remains closed. In order to comply with IGBC standards of bear-resistance, coolers MUST BE LOCKED with a padlock or bolt and nut of an appropriate length.

Very Secure and Insulated
This cooler was perfect for our canoe trip in Montana in June! Although it is heavier than a traditional cooler because it has very thick walls. It was secure (from mini-bears). If you use a bolt or lock, you can keep it secure from scary big bears, too! It kept the things inside from getting scorching hot throughout the week during our trip. Make sure the night before your trip, "cool" it by keeping it in an airconditioned area. I started out with a gallon bag of ice and this cooler kept my food fresh. In our week of food, I stored some fresh vegetables and hard cheeses as well as homemade trail mix with chocolate. All of it faired well. :) Good investment.

Doesn’t keep things cold longer than three days
Description suggested this was a good long term cooler. By the end of three days all our frozen water bottles were thawed. I expected they would stay frozen longer as the did with our cheaper Igloo.

Keeps food cold for DAYS
Went on a 4 day camping trip. We were unsure of how long this would actually keep food cold for so we put in 2 large bags of ice. Came home 4 days last with just under 2 full bags of ice left. 10/10 recommend

Holds ice for days
The ONLY complaint is that the seal is so good it vacuum seals lid shut and it is hard to open. We learned on our road trip we just need to loosen side valve to let some air out and the lid will open. Holds ice for days!! (If you are not constantly opening it)

Good value
After using cheap coolers for many years, spent the extra money on this one. I am very pleased with it. Still had some ice left after a 5 day camping trip. The weather wasn't extremely hot (average 75° F), but all in all it performed well.

Keeps it’s cool !!!!
Took it camping for a week, pre cooled it first with ice and used it just for our meats( froze them first.)hot dogs bacon sausage ground beef and chicken breasts ..put in 10 frozen water bottles and one bag of ice wrapped tight in a garbage bag on the bottom of the cooler .. packed it up Friday morning and kept it in the hot car all week( worried about bears).. chicken breasts were still frozen on Tuesday .. still some ice in the water bottles on wed ..put a new bag of ice in on Thursday morning ( was still about a 1/4 bag of ice from the original bag..and when I emptied it at home Friday night it was still cold with 1/2 bag of ice.. it’s a brute..it’s heavy when loaded with food and ice but such a minor issue if your more concerned about keeping your meat cold and fresh ..love this cooler.. it’s a bargain compared to the other high end roto-coolers and in my opinion works just as well.. pre chilling with ice is a must, even for yeti and other brands ..should always pre chill a cooler for best results

Great buy
Used the cooler over a four day period. Used it indoor at a cottage with two small bags of ice and a five pound reusable ice pack. Amazing cooler! There was still ice left over by the end of my trip and I opened the cooler door a lot. Money well spent. It's a solid cooler and will be in the family for a long time. I recommend this product.

outstanding cooler
very pleased with this cooler. Camping in 25-28 degree weather two frozen 1.5l water jugs took five days to thaw. In addition I looked at the replacement parts on the Cascade Mountain Tech website, and was pleased how reasonably priced the replacement parts were.

Really works to keep ice frozen for 4-5 days (even during a heat wave!)
This cooler was too big and heavy for me. The thick walls (which kept the food cold) made for large outer dimensions and small inner dimensions. I found it a little annoying to open and close the cooler. Other than that, it was really great!

Great cooler a little pricey
Works great love the cooler wish the price was lower comparing to Costco rotocoolers that are a lil bigger for $160
