The media could not be loaded. Works great. I use mine to melt aluminum. Although, I feel pretty confident I can melt metals with higher melting points as well. The crucible has some minor degradation after a few uses in the furnace, but overall it’s not a big deal and I’m happy with its performance. The walls are of a good thickness and I think it will last.

The cucible that came with my Is smelting kit is made out of the basic cheaper materials. That's why when I ordered a new crucible i made sure It had ceramic in the title. When I got it home and opened it up i could Immediately and definitely tell the difference between the two. Between my old one in this new one. My old one was rough pourous and during a cleaning i, without pushing too hard, accidentally poked a hole in the bottom of it. This new one is super smooth on the inside outside and is thick enough to endure normal wear a possibly cleaning without falling apart! I do believe "ceramic" beingIncluded in the makeup of the crucible is what will make it endure in last while I smelt.

Nice product. Would personally prefer if crucible was completely round on the outside.

I really like how durable these crucibles are. I also like the fact that I'm not having to spend a lot of time scraping out stuck residue from a previous melt. This has definitely prolonged crucible life. I will absolutely be purchasing again. Great product.

Good size. Worked great in the fire. Melted aluminum in it.

I liked the size and thickness of this crucible however in my coal forge it has been deteriorating rapidly over the first three uses, with pieces chipping off the top. however the main portion of the crucible has remained intact.

The top edges of the crucible should of came rounded over. NOT full of burs. i have to clean off all these burs on top with a grinder or when i go to grab it out of the forge it will chip and drop pieces into my clean silver bars. kinda a pain

Had a big crack in the bottom from inside but not showing on the outside, also few piece flakes of the side of crack (inside) , is it a defect or its ok to use it and i dont need to be worry about it?
