For Lithops Lovers
Hey you! Are you a lithops or other mimicry succulent newbie? Then get your lithops (or split rock, or other water-hating desert succulent) the heck out of that nasty, non-draining Home Depot or Lowe’s soil, and get it into this Gritty Mix!Seriously, look at the soil my lithops came in from Home Depot. It locks in way too much moisture even for mega-dry Colorado in the heat of summertime, and drains terribly. My lithops were suffering badly. Now look at the Gritty Mix in the pot in the background. That’s what I’m talking about, baby. Your desert plants will be immensely pleased by this well-draining mix. No more root rot horrors! They’re not paying me to write this; I’m just a crazy plant lady whose weird-looking little guys are her beloved babies. But seriously. Get this soil. Your lithops, split rock, etc. plants will thank you.

Wow!
Where has this been all my gardening life? Love it! Great for succulents. I was a little worried about if I ordered enough and how it would compare to cactus soil. I definitely ordered plenty-it goes a long way. I filled 4…7 inch shallow pots with a 1 pound bag and still had extra.

Expensive, but excellent product.
This is a lightweight potting medium for succulents and is an excellent mix of inorganic material plus a little bit of wood chips to hold a small amount of moisture. I was very impressed with the mix, although disappointed with the amount of product for the price. It is a small bag. The manufacturer is clear about the size and weight, but when it came I was surprised how small a bag it turned out to be. I used 3/4 of the bag for the one relatively small pot I used.

This is the must have for growing Lithops and other succulents
My Little living rocks are thriving in thir gritty mix. Plant care is east when you have the correct soil and follow the watering rules. I am very happy with Jack's Gritty mix.

It Works Great For Succulent Type Plants
This product works great for plants that need excellent drainage! I currently have 2 ZZ plants and 4 Peperomia plants potted up in custom mixes using various combinations of this product and regular potting soil. All of them are thriving. This mix is a bit on the expensive side, but I trust this brand more than I do Miracle Gro, and you've got to do what you've got to do.

My plants are loving this!
I have been taking care of plants for a few years but only recently have I ventured into cacti & succulents. I heard so many rave reviews about this growing medium that I decided to order a small bag. My plants love it!! I feel like my plants are much happier and it honestly looks fancier than the concoction I was using. It allows so much drainage these plants really need.

Best soil ever
very good quality. Coarse stone. Well drainage. Look great with succulent. Just repot my succulents and it’s easy to reposition the plant. Very neat. Must purchase again I’m in love with this soil.

Great soil
This soil is perfect for succulents and bonsai, great drainage, even mix of particulates, and easy to look at. Its unfortunately quite expensive (At the end of the day, its a bag of soil...). That said, I will either be purchasing this again in the future or trying my hand at making my own soil.

Good stuff
I’ve had it for maybe two months now- from reading the reviews I thought it would be a much smaller bag (everyone’s biggest complaint) but it wasn’t as tiny as I thought originally. I have about 7 succulents and I mix the bonsai mix with cactus soil and I still have half the bag left! Just make sure you mix it with the cactus soil so it will last longer too- so far it’s working great for me !I’m sure if I used the mix straight up and had huge pots for my succulents then it wouldn’t go very far.

Perfect for new succulents grower!!!
To all the new succulent enthusiasts (just like me), you will never overwater your succulents again. You will need a pot with drainage hole tho. So far all my succulents are growing new roots and so healthy. The only thing is that you have to water more often than soil mix. The product is a bit pricey but worth every penny.I highly recommended this product.

Get what you pay for. Premium product.
2 quarts is not much. The product is pricey. Yes. The benefit here is convinience. 5 stars because I know what I am buying. These guys have done the work of sourcing good gravel and bark for you. Most cheap gravel you will find smells like gasoline. This product is great if you need a few pots worth. It is a good mix and looks great in contrast to your plants. Happy with it
