Woodstock Percussion Wood Slide Whistle, Natural

Back of the slide has "C36" stamped on it. It is an eyesore to say the least, not to mention that questionability of the chemicals in this ink. Anything with the word "natural" should be as such. Even though it is advertised for ages 2+, you may end up having your child munching on this unsightly product identification. I'm sanding mine down. Other than that, product is as advertised, about 1" diameter, nicely sanded, with good craftsmanship.

I bought a few for the kids I babysit (ages 2 and 5) and we had a blast with them. They had been watching Sponge Bob and wanted to have something like the slide whistles in that one episode. They aren't loud enough to be really annoying after awhile. Since they were natural wood, we ended up painting them- which was another project they loved.

My son lost his first one on a cruise and had to buy this to satisfy him he likes it.

Ours may have been defective because it doesnt play different tunes as you slide the piston up or down. Perhap our 20mo old doesn't care, but for the adults who want to play like a 2yr old, it was disappointing.

Not worth the shipping costs. It is exactly as shown, a little wooden whistle. Maybe I shouldn't rate it so low; maybe I'm being unfair. It's ok.

Love it. I can't whistle, and its the only time my dog seems to notice when I want her to come to me. When we are dog park, I become invisible , but she comes when I blow the whistle. I had no aspirations of playing a tune, or joining the Philadelphia Orchestra , so this serves my purpose just fine.

The fit between the body and the slide is loose enough that the whistle doesn't make a full-on whistle sound most of the time.

This slide whistle has a lower tone than the cheaper plastic ones, but sounds nice and is a good quality wood. Should last a long time.
