Newton's Telecom Dictionary

I've been out of my field of Telecom for almost 8 years, so I use this effective dictionary to stay current on any new terms and acronyms.

... really needs more and better cellular

The edition I had was about 20+ years old and there were many terms not in it. The new version has been very helpful and contains many more terms. Thanks for the new edition!

I've known about Newton's Telecom Dictionary since 1997. It's a great resource even in the age of Google searches because it's a central repository for most things telecom without having to plod through company websites and sales pitches and so on for an explanation. That said, by now I would have expected a much better and more useful product. Here are some suggestions:Make an online, or digital downloadable, searchable version of it! Charge an annual recurring fee for updates. Save trees! Don't make us use a microscope to read the text (online solves that as well)! With a digital version, you can expand, provide more detail, perhaps share links and sources. Better (much needed) context can be provided.$45 is a bit much for this fat book of microscopic text. With the above mentioned improvements.....I'm in. You could even do a deal with LinkedIn. The possibilities are endless once you decide to get out of the Jurassic era of fat book dictionaries/weapons/bullet stoppers/world's strongest man competition props.etc.

This is the 4th edition I own! This is a great resource for anyone interested in technology.

Every telecommunications professional should have Newton's on their desk.

This is a generally useful reference. In 1996 I found it useful transitioning from Unix mainframe operations position to a telephony service provider. This most recent edition will serve a similar purpose.
