To my suprize, the retailer ignored many requests to send me a SIM card tray so after a few weeks, I decided to source one myself. It only took a minute to find E-repair with a simple search. In only a few days I received the part, which worked perfectly. I only wish I wouldn't have wasted several weeks trying to get the online retailer to make it right.
