TaoTronics Portable Bluetooth 4.0 Speaker, Micro SD Card Slot, Enhanced Bass Boost, Buit in Mic, USB PC Speaker, 8 Hours Playtime (TT-SK01 Black)

Was in the market for a Bluetooth speaker that could decently fill a mid-size room (12'x20' give or take). Was between this one and the  Photive CYREN  (available for same price at another site). Decided to give it a shot based on the reviews and the design.The Good:+ Very compact. We're talking the size of a Fabergé egg or one of those plastic Easter eggs.+ Solid feel. Has a decent amount of weight and heft, not going to knock over easily and break.+ Clean design. Looks well-machined and has that intangible "quality" feel to it.+ Decent sound. For something this small with only 2x3W drivers, it puts out pretty good sound without going too tinny.The Bad:- Finicky with connection. I've paired it to both my Macbook Air and smartphone, but sometimes I have to refresh the connection in order to actually get it going. Since this is happening on 2 separate devices when the other one's Bluetooth is off, I'm chalking it up to the speaker.- Static/feedback. Most of the time the audio is crisp and clean, but every now and then you hear some static in the back, like if you're listening to your car radio and drive into a tunnel.- Sound isn't GREAT. For a $25 speaker you can hold in one hand it's good, but if you want high-fidelity reproduction then you should look elsewhere.All in all, I'm modestly satisfied. If the static issue persists I may send it back for an exchange, but otherwise it lives up to the price tag. You're trading off sound for portability, so if you don't plan on moving much then you should invest in a larger but more powerful system.Battery life claims to be 5 hours, haven't been able to test it yet. Charges through micro-USB (comes with a micro-USB to USB cable), so you can plug it into your laptop or a wall if you have a USB-wall adapter.

Nice little speaker for the money. I had some difficulty syncing with a galaxy s2 and galaxy s4. Needed to hold the phone basically touching the speaker and took a few attempts to sync even at close range.Does automatically pair with both phones which is nice once initially setup.Sound quality is OK in the low-mid volume range. I am not an audiophile so can't provide much meaningful feedback other than when the volume is maxed the sound breaks up and is pretty awful. I wonder why the manufacturers don't limit volume output to a range that sounds good for the device.I plan on using this with an SD card while fishing so i don't have to have two charged devices to listen to music. Have tested this out and works fine.Have not tested microphone functionality.

The speaker pairs quickly enough though a little slower than a Logitech device I have. Volume is good from the stereo transducers, but the problem is the device drops out considerably more often than other Bluetooth devices I have. And the outdoor, clear field distance is approximately 10 feet at best. Even occasionally with an iPad at 2 feet, the device drops out for small fractions of a second. Very annoying.**Update**Customer Service has quickly contacted me explaining my unit performance is unusual and is sending a replacement unit. I will test both units carefully and update my feedback based on my findings.

PROS:- great sound quality for the size; it has 2 speakers and that really helps. It definitely sounds better than the more expensive SHARKK.- consistent sound quality between SD card playback and Bluetooth (SHARKK had much lower loudness with Bluetooth)- definitely less static than SHARKK- I like the shape of itCONS:- Volume control is not very practical- Bluetooth range is not great- There is no shuffle option for the SD card playback (to my knowledge that doesn't exist for any of the other speakers within similar price range)Overall, I highly recommend those speakers; great value for money.

Bought this for a xmas gift and mailed it overseas. When item was received it was used 2 separate occasions and on the 2nd charge the charging port detached at the solder points from the circuit board rendering the item useless. Worst of all, by the time I received it back to exchange it, it was 2 days after the xmas return period. Awesome.UPDATE: Sunnytek customer service contacted me immediately and offered to send me an entire new speaker unit. It arrived within 3 days. Very very happy with the speaker itself and the company has been top notch.

Received this and the TaoTronics® TT-BA01 transmitter. The speaker is small heavy, and sounds great, but the charger port was loose from the start, so returning it.Other than the charger port concern it is a great sound for such a small package, heavy enough to not blow over easily.The buttons can be confusing, but the videos on the other reviews should help.Once I get the refund, I most likely will order another one.I was a little disappointed I could not just get a replacement, but the option was greyed out, and the speaker has to be sent back UPS (prepaid) with Prime membership.

Not compatible with Windows 8.1 - which means it will still pair with a phone or computer, but not with two devices at once. Which means that if your intention is to be able to play music from your computer, and then accept an incoming call on your phone, it won't work if you have Windows 8.1.And most importantly, the mic is such low quality that it is unusable as a speakerphone anyway. Unfortunately, I missed the 30-day window to return this product, so I have a nice shiny black paper weight for my office now...

I love this little speaker! It was delivered in a timely manner. It connected with both my Samsung tablet and iPhone with no problems. The speaker is much louder than I expected and I love that it is Bluetooth capable and does not need a cable. I would definitely recommend this product.
