Coralife 05492 Actinic Straight Pin Compact Fluorescent Lamp, 36-Watt

It's a standard light, does it's job, lasts for 8-10 months with 6 hour a night usage. I've bought this many times for my tank

I was a little skeptical about purchasing this item after reading only one other review for this item in which the user stated that the bulb they got was not actually any actinic bulb.I am happy to report that after taking the plunge I am very happy with my purchase. I purchased the item via amazon prime and received a 36watt, straight 4pin Coralife branded bulb that is in fact the Full Actinic bulb. I am not sure what happened in the other review that said the bulb they received was not actually an Actinic bulb but that wasn't the case for me. For anyone who is wondering this is the replacement bulb used in the Biocube 29gallon stock hood, it fits and works perfectly. The bulb was also very well packaged by amazon in both bubble wrapping and lots of packing material protecting the bulb. I'll definitely be purchasing this item again in the future and appears to be the best deal around on these bulbs.

The media could not be loaded.  The price is right for an almost obsolete light. They will need to be changed about every 4-6 months. But they do put off enough light to grow softies with modifications to your hood or additional equipment.

Okay, this is a first for me. I have purchased many coralife bulbs before and have had saltwater aquariums for 11 years, however, never had an issue like this with new bulbs. I got this bulb in, along with the 10k bulb from the same seller to replace the two bulbs that have blown on my minitank. The 10k is good. The actinic bulb arrived in the manufacturer box, but without the cardboard insert for protection. That wasn't a problem, bulb still works and Amazon packaged it great. Upon power-on, the bulbs had the exact same color! First thought was that there was a mixup, but the bulb said actinic too! Not sure what to do with this bulb now, so two stars because it works, but only two because the phosphor is obviously not actinic.

I have ordered this actinic light two times now and it has always been a great product! I won't hesitate to order this again!

The box is correct: 36W 16" Coralife Actinic light which is for the biocube 29.The sticker on the box says its for the biocube 14.The light itself is at least 1/2" - 1" too long, therefore will not fit in any coralife biocube.

These bulbs work great for about 3 months, then begin a gradual fade to become useless about 5-6 months after purchase. It's the major reason I switched to LED.

This product was as described and it did fit. It also came shipped with a candy swedish fish which I thought was a great touch. It kinda made my day.
