Game Changer
Oh my! I’m so impressed with how well written, easy to read and applicable this book is! I’m a new manager and would have tremendously benefited from getting my hands on this sooner than I did. Would highly, highly, highly recommend this book to those considering management and/or are new to management!!

Timeless management lessons
Easy to read book with valuable lessons when you're stepping up in a company to your next role in management. Usually companies are too busy in the day-to-day grind, and they forget to train employees for such an important role such as manager, because when you're in that position you learn how to deal with the most valuable asset of a company: their employees. Really great book!

Wonderful for new managers
I am an HR professional and currently working with an employee to get him trained up for management. This employee got SO much from this book! He is a star employee, but did not understand what it took to be a good manager, and no matter how much you told him he didn't quite get it. This book changed everything! This book was written so well that my employee feels like the author was writing just to him. I am a real critic when it comes to the quality of management books, but this one is spot on. I highly recommend for any new manager, anyone thinking about a career in management, and a manager who feels like they want to brush up on the basics to make sure their focus is in the right place

Should be mandatory reading for ALL managers
This book is great for managers/leaders in any organization and I highly recommend it. Contrary to what one reviewer said - it is not outdated. Good advice is never outdated. I am an attorney who moved into HR two years ago and I could have written this book. It provides the same sage advice I've been giving managers and leaders for over 30 years - if followed, it will reduce legal action AND lead to more engaged and happy employees who are less likely to leave the organization. The managers/leaders will likely be happier and less stressed too. In my experience, I see far more bad and/or mediocre managers/leaders than truly good ones. This book can help change that - for the reader who is willing to learn and change behaviors. Good management and leadership is not an innate talent for the majority of people - it can and should be learned by EVERY manager/leader not just the new ones. Even those with innate talent and good emotional intelligence can learn something from this book.
