this is a wonderful comb. we had a smaller version for many year and it was the only comb that allowed us to comb our dear persian and himalayan kitties, without pulling and tearing their very gentle skin. the old comb got lost when we moved and had others care for our persian boy. he got matted in a matter of weeks and no other comb could help. luckily, we found this comb, which is the longer version of the one that got away.it has 2 sets of rotating pins - 1/2 of the comb has pins set wider apart, while the other 1/2 has them closer to each other. all pins rotate and do a great job of gently releasing the knots. we love it and our king loves it too.both the smaller version and the 7" comb are highly recommended. it is surprising that these combs are not as popular as those torture devices sold at all pet shops and online. they might be a bit cheaper, but they are very painful to use and make long haired cats suffer. the quality of these 'kat kombs' is exceptional. unless you loose one, you will never need to replace it. happy combing!

Gets out even the tough knots that are so thick that you used to have to cut out. The metal teeth rotate and catch the loose hair; just pull the hair away from the teeth when they're full and continue to comb.. There are large teeth and small teeth on opposite ends of the comb for shorter and longer hair. Go slowly the first time; afterwards, it's a breeze to take out any knots and clumps. This comb keeps bad fur days under control and the hair off of your couch. Regular combing reduces pets excess licking and pulling, and even better, less hair ball barfing! A winner.

BEEN USING THIS COMB TO GET OUT KITTIES MATS, AFTER THE VET UNMMATED THE INITIAL MATS, AND SO FAR ITS DOING OK,LEAST THE MATS KEEPING UNDER CONTROL.

I use this on my long haired dogs and it works like magic!

This is the only comb my Ragdoll cat will tolerate. His fur is thick and shedding is heavy. The rotating teeth make combing much easier so it eliminates matting and the eventual hairballs from self-cleaning. I don't know why the choice of features include sheerness and stretch. I just gave it 5 stars in every category because the quality of this product deserves it. I had mine for 10 years and lost it in a recent move so was grateful it is still available.

This item might be good for fur that is not already matted, but it did not help at all on the matted cat I was trying to groom. The cat is a domestic shorthair. I still had to pull apart the mats, one by one, working an hour or so at a time, over several days, to get the fur clear of mats. Kitty was very unhappy!

I love this comb for my long haired cat. Because of the spinning teeth, it doesn’t catch and pull so he actually likes it. It doesn’t pull out a ton of hair but it’s great for tangles and mat preventing. I’m super happy with it.

Second one I've purchased. No tangles, no sharp points.teeth rotate to prevent tangling. Goes deep to remove hair. My cats love it. Just needed a spare. Worth the money!
