I got this dash cam just for that reason.The included car charger is long enough for you to run around your windshield down to your cigarette lighter. Be sure to pick up some cable clips as they're not included; wasn't a big to me since I had already purchased a cheap 100-pk when I purchased another dash cam for another one of our cars.I love that the cam automatically powers on and starts to recording when power is supplied to the car charging cable; it will also power off automatically after a few seconds of you turning off your car.Video recordings are clear and of good quality. Recordings are recorded in 3-minute increments and older recordings are automatically erased in the event that your card is full. Each 3-minute recording is about 240MB. Currently, I've used about 7.5GB of space with 41 recordings.I'd give this 5-stars if it had a display screen-only because I'm a bit leery of leaving this mounted on my car. I prefer to take it off when parked as a precautionary measure and not having a display screen just makes it a little difficult to know if the position of the cam is in a desirable one. It does have a built-in WiFi connection which allows you to connect to the cam via an app and see what it's capturing which is definitely a neat feature; it also allows you to download the stored videos directly to your phone.

I bought a SEPERATE SD card, which I wasn’t expecting. It worked great for about two weeks, and then wouldn’t record any more, saying it was too full. I cleared the camera, I cleared the disk, still will not record and save. I can get it to be live, but does not record which is the whole reason I bought it.

On my second camera because the first one wasn't working after a few weeks. Things happen, no big deal. I ordered another one because I was happy with the original one. Good quality and I like the ability to pull videos to my phone from the wifi on the camera. I am now having similar problems with the second one. I tried contacting support but the only support option is an email address listed in the instruction manual. They never responded to my email. I am willing to remove this review if support contacts me.

The Cam is amazing in regards to the quality of the picture and the quality of the sound. I’ve used it everyday since it has arrived! I’m very happy I purchased this camera. Battery life is pretty decent. Love the fact it comes with accessories that allows you to use it anywhere and not just your car. I used it in one of my classes to record the lesson! And again, picture and sound quality were great!Installation of the app can be a bit of a hassle.I had a few issues getting the app started and hooked to the cameras WiFi. Once you get that up and running, the camera will film upside down, which you can change in the apps setting.You do have to purchase a Micro SD card, which you buy anywhere. Not a biggie at all.Over all the camera is a great buy!!

not a car camera. No way to see what the lense sees, no viwer of any kind. NO instructions, you must print everything out. They claim this works on a Apple, mac, noppe, it doesn't. No memory card included. As far as a car camera, it's about usless. Even as a "action" camera it is not water proof, dust or dirt proof. Only way to view what was shot on the camera is do download the memory card on a PC, then view.

I bought this camera and within a few months, the battery pack expanded in the car heat to the point where the camera back plate was bulging. Tried to contact seller/support, no dice, just radio silence. I took it out of the car, I don't want a fire. Cannot recommend this dashcam.
