Bought to keep here at Nana's house, as we're not far from the beach.I've added them to the vast pile of beach equipment for the grandchildren.These ones passed the 10year old test. They are of good quality, and sturdy enough for older children. The set has 3 different tools, which were all well used for digging, and decorating the finished sand sculptures.

Used yesterday on Hayle beach, and they stood up to the sandcastle test .Well made and easy for children to use,However i found one phillips screw that held the handle on had been damaged upon tightening, It had raised sharp edges, These i filed off now it is ok to use.

Sturdy equipment for all sandy beach architecture. Message writing, water damming and pyramid building can all be enhanced with such tools.

The sand bucket and spade industry is built on a lie. The hope is that you buy a set on holiday and then never use it again, instead investing again the next year and so on. They are treating us like fools, but still, we do it! Even if you do keep the set for another beach visit the quality is often so poor that the plastic has shattered already. You need to invest in some decent tools that will last at least a few years.These 'Jumbo Beach Shovels for Kids' may be of a substantial size for a child, but I would not go as far as to call them jumbo. They are a decent size for a toy sand set. What is the most important thing is that the plastic is all thick and well made. You can get a good heft of solid British beach sand and they do not bend or crack. Having three tools is good for different techniques but can lead to arguments if you gave multiple children. This set is one of the best that we have.
