Rainbow Magic: Belle the Birthday Fairy

My daughter is three but has an unusually long attention span and vocabulary for her age (I can say this with some authority, as she has two siblings). I bought the Kindle edition of this book and I read two or three chapters to her before bedtime - it took about a week to read the entire story. This is the first "big kid chapter book" we have tried and it was a big hit! She really enjoyed the story and would ask impatiently when we could read more of it and see what was happening in "Fairyland". As the mom, I appreciate that the drama and tension of the story was not too scary or complex for her to understand and that the characters taught valuable lessons about working together, respecting others, friendship and responsibility. I hope that she will continue to enjoy this series as she develops into an independent reader.

Kid ordered by accident, found out too late

This new special edition got my daughter back into reading. She had gotten a little discouraged by her older sister's level, but this is perfect for her. She is 6 and and at an advanced level for 1st grade. She has liked these since the last half of Kindergarten. She started with the scholastic reader leveled rainbow magic books. Those are not chapter books and then the regular rainbow magic books were a natural progression. Each book follows the same pattern. The goblins steal some objects that the fairies help the two girls find. It is a nice age appropriate problem and not too scary. She found this one amusing because the goblins like cakes that are ruined.

I purchased this for my granddaughter's birthday; charming look at another fairy story in a great series. It has great appeal for 2nd to 4th graders.

I got this for my daughter Annabelle for her birthday. She was thrilled to see part of her name in the title. She said it was a cute story. She loves this series.

My grandaughter loves this fairy series - so I downloaded onto the Kindle for her birthday. So easy to do - the whole Rainbow Magic Series is great for 6-10 year old kids.

Such a wonderful series to get girls into chapter books. Cute and fun and always with a subtle, yet valuable, lesson. We can't get enough of them!

I would recommend going elsewhere for the Rainbow Magic books - they are widely available and not much more expensive to buy in the shop. The one I bought from here has very cheap flimsy pages and is very 'americanised' eg. "mom", "vacation", etc., etc. It was too late by the time I realised all this (the night before my daughters birthday) and although she doesn't seem too bothered by it I will definitely go to WHSmith next time I need a book. (It's not the first time I have had books from Amazon that have been more cheap than cheerful!).
