The only UK-based bar management book I could find!
A gift for a trainee bar manager who seemed genuinely pleased. Most books on bar management are American and this was theonly UK-based bar management book I could find.

Great read cover to cover, and as a reference.
Considering before reading this book I knew next to nothing about opening and running a bar, I walked away with enough knowledge to conclude if and when it could happen. A must for anyone in the same position.

Succinct and easy to grasp
A very easy read with short chapters that don’t waffle on and tell you exactly how things are. A must by for new managers.

Promising, but riddled with grammatical errors.
I just received this book and so far, the content is indeed valuable. However, the reason for this quick review is to highlight the grammatical errors which are plenty and make it difficult to read through, which is unfortunate.Apostrophe where there shouldn’t be, lack of commas where there should be to help with pace and flow, etc.Page 21 begins with a quote from Jocko Willink, only that his last name was spelled as ‘Williams’.The preface is redundant and could’ve been trimmed significantly. Keeping the wirter’s background, and intent of the book concise would’ve been ideal. It read too self-serving.This all said, so far the meat of the book is so far valuable and here’s to hoping there’s no more grammatical errors or misnaming.Best outcome would be if they re-release a copy that is has been properly proof-read, and send it out to all those who have already paid for a copy.Cheers.
