Solmate Socks - Mismatched Crew Socks; Made in USA

I first found these at a gift shop in the South. I was told they were made in Vermont from recycled remnants from a T-shirt factory. They were so cute and well made I shelled out the high 20.00 for a pair to try. I fell so in love that I went searching for more on Amazon and found them! They are well worth the money and highly addictive! I am a size 9 with a narrow foot. My first pair was medium and then I bought a large. The medium fit best and I do not notice any shrinkage in the dryer. If you love soft, thick cotton, pretty socks you may be as hooked as I am!

Got them in December... huge holes in the heels by July. My husband bought me three pair from Solmate last Christmas. I added these to the five pair of similar socks (I don't remember manufacturer) that I've had for at least ten years (which have no holes!). The socks are randomly rotated and by my calculation, the two pairs with holes from Solmate were worn less than ten times. Very disappointed.

I love everything about these socks except the most important thing and to me that's comfort. They are so cute I wore them anyway several times but have quit wearing them. I'm in California, so I don't usually wear thick cotton socks, so maybe this is normal for thick socks. I wear 8 1/2 shoe and I bought a medium which fit perfectly. I just wish they were more comfy!

I've admired these socks at a small local shop, but they didn't have the Balsam colorway that I really liked, lovely greens and violet. When the socks arrived I noticed several things; the toe seams are not smooth, the fit is very loose. and there are several unfinished changes between colors with long hanging threads. Hmm, as a devoted sock knitter, these just don't pass inspection.

I got 2 pairs of these for people as Christmas gifts and then decided to buy myself a pair, too. As far as I can tell, they are true to size. I got a size large for both recipients, who wear a men's size 10 or so. The colors and patterns are really fun and bright and people seemed pleased with them. They are thick, have a little bit of stretch, but are cotton so they breathe well. I also think it's really nice that they are made from recycled yarns.

So non conforming, the hipsters won't even wear them!

These socks are cute and fun. But being made mostly of cotton they shrink quite a bit. Also, anyone with muscular calves or edema can't wear these. There is very little stretch sideways and what there is seems to go out the door once they're washed and dried.

My first pair of solmates was passed on to me from my mom. I've worn them for 4 years and they're just now showing some wear in the soles, so I started looking for more. I got 3 more large adult size and a pair of the ankle height and I love love love them all. I wear them to sleep in year round. I'm a granmi and my grandchildren get a kick out of grammi's funky socks. LolI love that they are cotton and breathable. My feet are never too hot or too cold when I'm wearing my Solmates. They look great with my Birkenstocks when we go camping!! I just love the colors and the mismatch!!I plan on buying some of the child size for several of my grandchildren who suffer from severe excema and polyester is bad for their skin. So these wonderful cotton socks should be perfect!!! I can't say enough good things about them!!!
