There is no metal at all and the measurements will jump around. This is easily handled by regularly zeroing the tool.Digital measure has been accurate so long as the tool is zeroed properly before use. The sticker on the tool is really for show only it is way off.Heavily considering the cost this is a five star.

For years, I've had a super cheap plastic caliper that I use for measurements (it seems like a toy, but it's amazingly accurate if you don't bend it). I don't need the often, but when I do, it's nice to have them. So this last time I used them, I decided to see if Amazon had something a little more sturdy/accurate. I saw these for $11.98 for two and decided what do I have to lose? It's got to be much better than the plastic ones I have. I got these and am completely impressed. They are much sturdier than I had expected. I measured the diameter of a couple nickels and it was dead-nuts-on. Absolutely worth every penny.
