The BEST compact pillow speaker on the market.
I love Crane products. Very nice speaker that I bought after researching quite a few others. Glad I bought this one. PLUS: The sound is good for a pillow speaker - don't expect it to sound like an IEM or earbuds. The wire is incredibly long - so, you won't have to stretch it. Amazingly, unless you crank it up real high, only YOU will hear the music without any leaking for the person next to you. I plug it into C. Crane Pocket Radio or the mini Shanlin M1 MP3 player. Of course, the output is mono. MINUS: I did remove the cloth cover as it increased the bulk. Without it, the speaker is pretty small and flat and will slip under the pillow case without any problem. Unless you align your ear close or place it over the device, you won't hear the music. So, initially, you would have to spend some time figuring out how to place your head but once you get the idea, it is fine. Except when you turn around - when you have to align it again but hopefully, you fall asleep before that. While it may seem a bit too expensive, you get what you pay for and I am delighted to have bought this product.

Sounds come out both sides
It works great as a speaker but sound comes out both sides of it so if you're a side sleeper and putting it on top of your ear instead of under your ear, your partner can be disturbed by it..

The perfect solution - plug into an Echo Dot...
I'm hard of hearing in my right ear and sleep on my left side. I had been using a rechargeable headband speaker (bought on Amazon) to connect to my TV as I fell asleep. However, I started thinking about sleeping with a battery by my brain all night, so I began researching alternatives.I have an Amazon Echo Dot by my bed, so I plug this speaker into the Dot and place the speaker inside my pillowcase. Then, I tell Alexa to 'connect to TV,' and voila, I've got great sound, a healthier option, and I don't have to wear a headband that gets too warm on my head. Additionally, the long cord is great, and the volume control is just 12 inches from the speaker, making it easy to adjust. This setup is perfect, and I've been using it nightly for several months.

Great Idea, Very Poor Product Execution
I wanted to listen to specific meditation frequencies while I slept, without bothering my roommates in the rooms next to mine. All I needed was quality sound that can only be heard within about a 2-3 foot radius. Using something like small studio speakers would require more equipment and/or mounting solutions to centralize the audio around my pillow. I had the idea of installing speakers inside my pillow, so when I found these online they naturally seemed like they were meant to be and I purchased two of them thinking that if I place one of each side of my bed it would give more of a stereo/surround sound.Unfortunately, these worked the complete opposite way from what I envisioned in my head. First off, I needed to place them directly next (or inside) my ear in order for me to hear anything. From my understanding, very few, if any, people can sleep with their head/ear in the exact same spot all night, let alone have their ear perfectly placed on top of a tiny speaker. I quickly learned that I definitely can't do this. Secondly, the volume was incredibly weak. Even when I did have my ear pressed directly on the speaker I could barely hear anything. Also, even with the padded cover and a soft pillow it still felt like I was sleeping with a tennis ball in my ear, and eventually started to hurt.I ended up throwing these speakers away and ordering 2 JBL Flip 4 speakers. Even though they were 3 times the price as the pillow speakers the JBLs gave me the volume range, maneuverability, and quality of sound I was searching for. Placing one JBL on each side of my pillow gave me that immersive sound I wanted without have to build a contraption or purchase additional equipment. If it wasn't for the poor sound overall the pillow speaker might have worked. Since I purchased two of them it ended up being a $50+ lesson that you get what you pay for.Try these at your own risk, and don't expect to be completely satisfied. You have been warned.

Sounds great, wire is too wimpy
I loved this! Audio sounded surprisingly good, and I liked that I could hide it in my pillow. But the wire broke after *just over* one year and it stopped working. Since the warranty was up, I tried to repair it myself with a new cord, but I couldn't find the break in the wire so ended up having to throw it away.

Still happy after 7 months hard use!
I've had this speaker for 7 months and finally decided to write a review. I use it evey night with my iPad, listening as I go to sleep. In the past I tried using ear buds, but they were uncomfortable and kept falling out. This has been a wonderful solution! It's soft so I can even lay on it if I want to. Usually I just lay it on my pillow near my ear. I tend to roll around some before I settle in so it gets moved and twisted around quite a bit. The cord is a little over 6 feet long so there is lots of wiggle room! Sometimes it ends up on the floor by moring. When I travel it gets tossed in a bag to come along. I have been impressed that it keeps working so well in spite of the abuse I give it! I have the model with volume control and would recommend that. This has been a great little device for the money.

Very good .
Very good product. The cord is long enough that your device can be on a side table. There is a good range for volume, but it does have to be on top of the pillow. You won't be abel to hear it if it is under the pillow. I like to listen to ASMR videos for sleep and the only ones I couldn't were those where they are whispering. I could hear the ones that are softly spoken just fine. There is a convenient volume control on the cord close to the device. The only thing I didn't like was the casing. It was still lumpy even when I tried to 'make room' for it, as instructed. I took the speaker out of the cover and it is thin enough that I don't feel it at all.

Good but very exoensive
I initially thought this was faulty but it does provide good sound under your pillow immediately near your ear. I've come round to it a lot and would recommend but I don't think it's remotely worth he best part of £60.

paying $40 shipping on a $30 product when the actual radio shipped for free was a huge disappointment.
Speaker works very well. However, paying $40 shipping on a $30 product when the actual radio shipped for free was a huge disappointment.
