Top Quality that is Long Lasting
There are too many companies out there making boots that are just garbage. I spent twenty-four years in the U.S. Army as an Infantryman so I know a little bit about boots. The Belleville company makes excellent boots. I first saw the model 700 Belleville boots when I was a Drill Sergeant because they were issued to Basic Trainees for a short time, I later found out they stopped issuing them because of cost. At first I didn’t like them because they looked more like a work boot than a tactical combat boot, but even then I knew they were well made. Years later after I retired and got into law enforcement I bought a pair of them and I loved them. The agency I was working for was issuing a very poor quality of boot my feet simply couldn’t deal with, they hurt to wear and fell apart after for months of use. These Belleville boots, at least in my line of work will last a good two years, likely even more, if you take care of them by occasionally polishing them once in a while to prolong the life of the leather. Of course the sole of the boots will wear down over time especially with rigorous use but the boots themselves will remain intact for a very long time. I highly recommend these boots to anyone who is looking for high quality, long lasting boots that are also very comfortable to wear.As a side note - I once ordered a pair of these same boots that arrived with a manufacturing flaw. I contacted the Belleville company with an email complete with photos to show the problem. Belleville sent me a shipping label, gave me the date and a time frame when UPS would deliver a new pair of boots. UPS arrived on the correct date and time frame, handed me the box with the new pair of boots and I handed the UPS driver the flawed boots in the box with the shipping label and that was it. Excellent customer service from a company that makes an excellent product and cares about their customers’ satisfaction.

Da's Boot
Im on my feet for hours. Have tried numerous boots without any success. My feet were killing me after a long day. Finally the Marine Corps save my little piggies. In the '90's they came out with Marine Infantry Combat Boots. Perfect! They are on the little heavy side, but who cares? My feet are happy. After having my boots resole twice I finally put them out of their misery and this company discontinue them for some unknown reason. Once again, I began searching for a decent pair of boots. Sometimes when I bought a pair, I end up throwing then away after the 1st use. That's how bad they suck. Then the Army issue me a new pair of desert tan boots. To which were the exact match of the Marine boots. Great for "rucking", comfortable, combat tested. This year, came to find out that Belleville began selling this boot again. They call it the Flight Boot. It doesn't matter to me. I'm a 12W, they feel a little bit big. But, once again my feet are happy. I do hope they don't discontinue them again. Good pair of boots. My 1st pair last 11 years and it still look good with a spit shine. Anyway. Im done typing. Hope this help.

My second pair, this pair fits better.
I really like these boots. I purchased the same boots few months ago however I have a wide foot and my shoe size is 11. Reviews said to order exact size. I have been wearing Danner Arcadia boots for 20+years so i know I would order a half size smaller (10.5 Wide) . So with the Belleville I decided to order 11 Extra Wide. Danners are narrow as many of us know. So when I tried on 11 Extra Wide they felt good because of extra room and I'm not used to that. So I have worn them for a few months now and the are definitely too long and too wide. I ordered ANOTHER pair and I ordered 10.5 Wide. I am happy with this size. A lot less sloppy, less tripping on stairs and yes another pair of boots in the closet taking up space. LOLScott

Two defective pairs in a row
Really disappointing. First pair came with a weird ridge in the toe box of the right boot-otherwise they were great, the leather was soft, and seemed like they could be really comfortable. Sent those back, ordered another pair hoping for the best. The box was filthy, the boots were clearly used, leather is totally different from the first pair-not as soft, same ridge defect in the toe of the right boot as well as an obvious puckering on the outside of the right boot. Can’t say I’m going to try a third time, which is unfortunate because they’re great looking boots.

Best boot for work!... well used to be until the seam cracked
I stand/walk most of the day for work. I've read many reviews of the best boots, police boots, military boots, etc. These are classified as flight boots, but hands down the most comfortable boot I've worn. No break in period needed. This boot is built extremely well. It fits snug. It's lightweight, breathable, and waterproof with the Goretex technology. I preferred a half size below my normal shoe size. I'm an 8W, and wearing 7.5W. I'd definitely take these anywhere where I would need to do a lot of walking/hiking and even running if I didn't own a pair of Nike's. You really get what you pay for, and yes these might be a tad pricier than most boots, but definitely worth the money and built in the USA. The other boots I've recently ordered and tried were Bates Delta-8's Side Zipper (I didn't like them) and Magnum's Response Side Zipper II. Magnum's (best reviewed by Amazon) are the cheapest, super light, and feel good too. The size was half a size lower for me, same thing a 7.5W. If you're looking for a great boot for work because you walk and/or run a lot on you feet, I'd recommend these Belleville's. If you need a cheaper version with a good fit and reviews I'd try the Magnum's.Note: The side zippers on both boots were pretty useless as it didn't release my foot that well. I still had to untie my boots. All the military personnel reviews online stated Belleville's were great and I didn't find any criticisms like other boots (Too heavy, etc.)I will update after some time of use.Edit: March 7th, 2012. After some use of close to a year, there seems to be a manufacturing defect on the inner part of the right boot near the ball/toes where the boot bends before the rainy season hit. The sole of the boot created a crack that went along about 2-3 inches down the seam. When it rained, my foot got wet. I am very sad, these are really expensive and I expected top notch performance. I used them on a daily basis for 3 months, then quit the job that I was at to start a new career down a different path. So there wasn't a long term strenuous wear on them at all. I use the boots because they're comfortable, on cold days. But I'm disappointed in gear made made from the USA and their policy didn't include my defect. I'd give these boots a 5 star in everything, except for weight and quality. Quality would definitely get a 1 star. The price per performance went down as a crack to me is a defect and now not waterproof.. Go buy the Magnums I previously referred too. They are light weight and just as comfortable. I'm extremely disappointed as most things I buy here in the USA are good, such as Cutco Knives and Powerblock weights.Edit: March 8th, 2012. As per warranty of Belleville Boots, Cat5, the seller was able to contact Belleville and return my shoes for a full refund. Cat5 responded fast and was courteous, great customer support. As for the boots, I don't think I'll try another set of Belleville's for now. +1 for Belleville and their guarantee of a 1 year warranty, and +1 for Cat5 for a quick response regarding this situation and their efforts to contact the company. I would buy again if I'm looking for anything in the area that Cat5 sells.
