Okay security camera, not without niggles
I had bought these to cover different areas of my new property. Battery life is okay, depends how often the motion sensor is activated. I have linked one camera to a solar panel and that's been working well. Cameras are easy enough to set up and install I had to replace one and customer service was very helpful.

Superb night vision.
The media could not be loaded. If you are after this as night security well it works brilliantly. I've been testing this out in the back garden. So impressed. Video quality is excellent. In the dark it spots me behind the kids trampoline (as I stand up!) even before you would be visible by the eye (I even did this twice as I couldn't believe it!). I'm well impressed. Also picked up my 4 year old no problem (but Amazon will only let me upload 1 video!). Solar panel connects up easily to the charging port. I wasn't expecting much from the solar panel as all we have now is grey cloud cloud cloud, however when I checked later on in the day the battery level had gone up by a couple of percent (and really all you want is for it to keep the battery topped up so you don't have to take it down to charge so it looks like that will do the job and mean I never have to charge. Fab!). I do own a Cooau cam on the front also, you can see how this newer version has evolved. With the older cam you can only set it to high or low sensitivity even with the most up to date firmware (I'm going to contact Cooau and see if there is anything that can be done with that) whereas the new one has 10 sensitivity levels. I set it on 10 and we do have cats going through the garden and it's not been triggered by anything but human movement which is a bonus. You can also set intervals between it being triggered. I'm really pleased with it. Recommending this to my father . Also if Cooau could develop something to stop spiders making webs over my cameras it would be appreciated! Update. I found the first one to be so good I bought a second. The one in the back garden which is south facing literally has never needed charging so far the solar panel works so well , I was really surprised as it's winter and there's little sun. Having said that the other one which is not south facing seems to struggle and has needed charging, maybe in summer that one will be fine? Anyway really pleased and very happy with cooau products. I have 2 cameras, bought one for my father and also a cooau doorbell cam. Really are brilliant.

Ok camera but Cloudedge app is lacking
Solar panel is enough to keep the camera charged but motion detection lags a bit. The lack of a free short term cloud storage is a disadvantage compared with other products. The inability with Cloudedge to download images from the SD card locally is also a great disadvantage and necessitates climbing a ladder to dump the images.

Definitely needs sun
I bought this to use in a holiday let which has a north facing balcony. I set it up at home first to test it and glad I did. It definitely needs lots of direct sunlight to keep charged. Forget just daylight, the battery dropped to 45% within a week even with sensitivity turned down and alerts switched off. However once back in the sun it charged to 60% in just a few hours. Good quality picture, especially at night. The app is not that great but sufficient. I prefer my other camera that uses CamHipro app, much more intuitive.

Great Solar Panel Charged Camera
I use this product mounted (easy to do) on a south facing cabin office in the garden. The initial setup with SD card etc was a minor complication but the online support was both fast and informative and we quickly solved the issue.Camera has been running for 2 months now with no problems even with temperatures at -5'C. The connection between the camera and panel is a simple USB so care needs to be taken that it is connected properly. Recommend testing before you mount in a difficult to reach position.Motion sensor is great and works day or night and integration into the app software is simple as i already had a non-solar panel camera compatible. Camera is mounted approximately 30ft away from the wifi router on an outdoor cabin and there is no issue with signal (at present!).Only downside is, as others have commented on, it does seem to be a lightening rod for spiders and their cobwebs!! But i dont think this is the manufacturers issue..lol.OVerall, a great solar panelled camera with excellent support services. Well recommend.

Customer support are excellent.
The media could not be loaded. The camera is very well designed and solid. The materials used are of quality and I liked the look of the camera. I found it very easy to set up and the cloud edge app is straightforward. It records still images to the app with the date and time that can be stored on a cloud service. When motion is activated the camera sends an alert to your phone and video clips can also be recorded and stored on an SD card which can be inserted into the device. The video clips are very small in size and the camera works with a 128 SD which enables you to store a lot of clips on there without the card filling up. I found the quality of the images excellent. That also applies for when the camera records at night the night vision is really clear. The battery life is amazing it lasts for longer than any other battery power camera I have used and the solar panel helps to keep it topped up if you place it outside where there is sunlight. Another thing the customer support I was surprised how good they were at resolving any issues. They are very quick to respond and do their very best to sort any issues out without any fuss. I was pleasantly surprised how good they are. I would recommend this camera as it will record for a long while without any hassle and if anything does go wrong the customer support will sort it out.
