If you have a little kid that loves cars this is a good book for them.
Cute book. It is an easy read, my five year old has read this. He loves all things cars.

Not good for a 10 year old
OK for pre-school or kindergarten, too elementary for a 10 year old taking a sincere interest in cars and engines (which I bought it for) . I read every word and looked at every picture in less than 4 minutes at normal reading speed. 0 stars for 10 year old, 5 stars for a 5 year old.

Not Written at a Child's Level
I hate this book. I'm so mad that I bought it. I purchased for my nephew's who love engines and cars. I know engines are difficult to make kid friendly but this book is TERRIBLE!#1 The pictures don't match the writing and they don't match each other. The book goes back and forth between cartoon pictures and random pictures of race cars. There's one picture of an actual engine.#2 There is at no point in the book a label on any of the real pictures or diagrams.#3 The language was insanely pedantic and definitely not understandable for kids. It was like they didn't even try. Apparently someone thinks that putting a cartoon car next to technical mechanic language makes it kid friendly.#4 It was BOOORRRRRING. My nephews love to read and will get lost in just about any book. They were bored with this one by the second page. I have never had them get bored with a book before so that says something.#5 IF you wanted to use it for older kids it wouldn't work at all because the overall format of the book is childish and includes cartoon cars. It's clearly made for children yet written for adults.I can't return it at this point because in order to do that I'd have to take it away from them, they aren't quite old enough to understand if I did that.I'm sure grandpa can point out the names of all the engine parts if he reads it to them but literally nobody else in the family would be able to read this book to them and make it interesting.Total waste of money.

Little too advanced
A little advanced for a child, but great book otherwise

Auto book
I have a very smart 7 year old and was disappointed as I thought it would have better information in it for him.
