The Barefoot Book Of Princesses Paperback – September 1, 2004

I had this book & lost it. My now 19 yo daughter was looking for it recently and was upset because she couldn't find it. She loves the stories and the pictures and remembers it fondly. Glad to have it again.

I have enjoyed many Barefoot Books, but did not enjoy this one as much as the others. Several stories were weird....I am all for fairy tales and sometimes they tend to be a little odd, but these stories were weird without an obvious lesson at the end. I also thought that some stories were unnessarily gruesome....I realize this happens in fariy tales sometimes, but these were just weird and gross!

Excellent book for the homeschooling library.

my daughter being an avid disney princess fan is mesmerized by the stories. love the international tales. exactly what we were looking for to balance out the disney stories. big fan of barefoot book.

I am amazed that this got through barefoot books. The princesses are pretty weak with the princes resolving all conflict. Also, severed heads! A woman needing to beat herself! Seriously... I know these are folk tales from around the world but they are pretty brutal. The artwork is beautiful but I would never recommend this to anyone. Superb just like the other barefoot books. Kids will love the rare stories the brilliant illustrations and creative stories.
