Wonderful flavor capture the beans complex bouquet.
I ordered this for me and my wife. We love trying new coffee and this brand looked very promising. The coffee arrived fresh and ready to grind. We only order whole bean coffee so we can grind it right before brewing. Using the recommended amount is grounds we brewed enough for two cups. The coffee right away gave straight forward flavors of dark chocolate and mildly roasted coffee. Notes of tropical fruits and a citrusy backbone was accentuated by hints of herbal aromas. Wonderfully complex. We enjoyed this coffee very much. Highly recommended.

yummo
I'm a coffee fanatic, and I like this one! It's got a good flavor to it, and is nice and smooth. I feel like it's a true medium roast, a bit on the lighter side, which I like. But you can always use more beans or grind it longer and make it stronger. This is a smallish bag, so I brought it with me on a recent trip in our camper and it was perfect for lazy mornings. I like that this company support sustainable farming. Love to support a small business making quality coffee. This one's a winner!

Good Coffee at a Premium Price
This is a full flavor coffee. Although the package indicates it is a medium roast, I would say it is more akin to a dark roast. Our typical coffee selection is dark roast, so this worked well for us. We ground the coffee and immediately added the finished product to our pour over coffee maker. I would recommend this method for a premium coffee like Good Citizen. My only issue is the price. Our current favorite coffee, Cafe Bustelo is $15 for a 36 oz. cannister. Good Citizen is $21 for 12 oz. Granted the Bustelo is ground coffee and not beans so Good Citizen is a fresher cup of coffee. Nevertheless, that is a significant cost difference between the two brands. That said, if you want a premium bean coffee that is locally sourced and biodiverse, this is an excellent choice.

Fresh and flavorful coffee
Good Citizen Coffee Co.’s Chin Up Whole Bean Coffee (medium roast, 12 oz) is a fresh and flavorful coffee.AROMAFresh-roasted coffee, dark chocolate, stone fruitCOLORMedium darkFLAVOR• Black: roasty cocoa and a bit of stone fruit• With milk added: light and fruity with toast, cherry, and subtle chocolateNOTES• Washed process: though I have bad GI reactions to many coffees now, this washed coffee does not bother me at all. It’s clean but flavorful.• Company seems to care about people and ecosystems (e.g., They pay select coffee farmers an additional 5% to repair and replenish their ecosystems.).• Price is high for my taste.

Light
I freshly grind and brew two tablespoons of this coffee in a one-cup coffee machine. This is quite different from the other medium roasts that I have tried. It is a little bit too light for me. Though I am sure it is fresh and well-sealed, the brewed coffee does not have that much aroma, either. It is as though it’s been over-diluted. Because it is not bitter and feels rather mellow, I am drinking it when I don’t feel like drinking dark roast. Overall, this is nice as a change but it is not my go to coffee. It is not the cheapest specialty coffee, either. It seems to be enjoyed by a lot of reviewers and I may be standing where a well-done meat lover would, but it would not be fair to other coffee varieties I tasted if I scored this more than 3.

Great aroma and flavor
Great aroma you notice just after opening the box. As medium roast should be like, the taste is balanced, not too acidic nor bitter, and has a smoot finish. Nice chocolate and cherry notes. I also likes its bag presentation; I think it makes it attractive for a gift. I tried the coffee mainly on espressos and cappucinos and the result was really good.

Taste Worth the Price
Just tried out this Good Citizen Coffee Co. Chin Up blend. I'll be honest, when I saw the price, I had my doubts. But after giving it a shot, I gotta say, I'm really glad I did. This coffee is like a hug in a mug. It's got a rich taste and deep flavors that really wake you up in the morning. If you're a coffee lover like me and don't mind splurging a bit for that perfect cup, give this one a try. You might just find it's worth every penny.
