Omakase (O-ma-ka-say) means, "It's up to you," a perfect phrase to reflect these pieces as blank canvases for culinary creativity. Sushi restaurants often use this term for their "Chef's Selection" menus. Omakase: white porcelain dinnerware. A blank canvas for your culinary art. Made in China.

the rim turned up (the best one). On the fourth
I purchased four of these and none of them matched. The rims were warped and wavy when viewed from the side. On two of the plates, the rim was flat. On one, the rim turned up (the best one). On the fourth, the rim drooped downward. Either the manufacturer has significant quality control issues, or the company that sells these plates is selling factory rejects and not disclosing it. I returned the plates to Amazon for a refund.
