Take Me To Truth: Undoing the Ego
This is it! Finally, the difference between seeking enlightenment and actually living it. I have been a student of ACIM for many years, and the philisophy of this great great book seemed to remain somewhat elusive, to me. After reading both of Gary Renard's books, the meaning became a delicious surprise and finally, I found the God I was looking for, yesss!!! (Also, very important to me, I did not want to morph into some kind of new-age, born-again, in your face Christian, screeching my philosophy, while not living the truth. And amazingly enough, that did not happen. My family, friends and acquaintances just keep noticing that I have become much kinder, calmer and happier, not such a bad thing.) I am now on my 3rd reading of Take Me To Truth and am delightfully amazed that every single time, I am led to a new level of not only awareness, but how to take that awareness into the world we are now existing in, and live it. I believe I have read almost every self-help, spiritual, new-age book that has been published, and thank every one of those authors for leading me here. They are all speaking the truth, but, as you will learn, there is another level that needs to be accessed, before a permanent change becomes possible, and this is just so refreshing. Wait until you discover what forgiveness really means! And, how about everything is predestined, so anger is never justified, plus discovering everything you don't like in someone else is really just you projecting that onto them! (Hah, you'll learn to have fun with this one) And, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Believe me, your ego will rail against just about every word you read, but Nouk Sanchez and Tomas Viera have managed to not only put ACIM into a practical application but have incorporated firm and gentle guidance as you go though each phase. Understanding seems to come quickly, and then, ahhh, the peace. And there is so much humor (life becomes fun again!) as you learn to become an interactive observer. This book is for everyone that has always known there has to be a better way, and finally, there is. A personal note here: my children are spaced very far apart and we still have our 16 year old at home. The first time I started reading TMTT, the two older ones returned home (uh, there are no accidents), so for the first time in many years, I had all my kids back under one roof. This has proved to be a delightful experiment for all of us. What I always secretly wanted and did not even realize until I read TMTT, was to have a magnificent relationship with my family. Poof, after 33 years of marriage, and three children, it is here. Thank you, thank you, thank you Nouk Sanchez and Tomas Viera! There is a much more exciting and loving way to live, as we learn to change our minds about the world, and learn that eventually, that is what really changes the world. Louis Armstrong knew what he was singing about: "It's a Wonderful World."

Definitely the best book on the topic
Definitely the best book on ego psychology for personal development. Hits you straight in the heart (and stomach) with the sense of your feet firmly grounded. Since addressing the core issue of man this book should have been mandatory for all teens all over the world from high school and up. The book explains what the ego is and how it affects our lives in a way that is firmly grounded and easy to identify with. With its exercises it shows and explains that ego release can be both easy and more difficult. I think this book is definitely the best book anyone could read as their first book in the spiritual quest.I would also especially recommend this book for Christians looking for insights that will bring Christianity back to spirituality instead of the grossly common materialistic ego based concepts and belief systems of the ego mind dominating today. After reading the book it personally became very clear that those who genuinely have tried to show us the path to spiritual enlightenment (away from ego), did NOT come to give us religions (of the ego and away from the divine). Which shows us that when man misunderstand the message he makes religion. I understand that spirituality and religion is diametrically opposite. It has also become clear that the ancient text where meant to be guides which "stand" beside you on the path, but you are not attached to or the texts should not be in the focus themselves. Religions have the texts themselves as their focus and "path", which of course is no path at all. You are just stuck with a imagined construct of what the divine is in your own mind. The spiritual and divine is something you experience and are a part of. It has nothing to do with imagination. Regarding stuck, it makes me think of what Jesus said: "The truth shall set you free". I do not remember reading him saying: "The truth shall set you stuck (as with any other belief SYSTEM)" : D I see that divine or spiritual truth has nothing to do with if you get Sabbath or Sunday right, or if you can eat a whole lots of sausages or Bon Bons or not, and if you figure it out and get really lucky then the divine will give you an A and push a button so you finally will be set free. ; )From the bottom of my heart I highly recommended the book!!!

Great apart from the writing style! Love the content so much, bought the printed version too!
At first I found the language used too heavy going and after a few chapters I very nearly gave up. I’d pick it up, read a few pages and realise the prose wasn’t engaging my interest and put it down again.Luckily I didn’t give up and after 4 or 5 chapters it got a lot better and definitely fascinating. This is a really interesting and practical blend of the practical application of ACIM with “The work” by Byron Katie which I had never read before.Occasionally there are books I get so much out of, I decide to buy the printed version too so I can easily refer back to them later. This is one such book.I particularly like the explanation of the stages of waking up. I found this really helpful as it meant I wasn’t going mad and that what I was experiencing turns out to be quite normal. I also like the fact you can tell there is a lot of the author’s own personal experience woven into the prose. This for me makes it really come alive.I only give It 4 stars because I think the writing style could be simpler. The concepts are easy to follow so why the complicated prose? Despite that I whole heartedly recommend it.

Little Originality.
I'm afraid I tend to agree with the other negative reviews of this book. There is little or nothing which is new, it is simply a re-hash of ideas found in hundreds of other books. I have huge concerns about how valid an book is when it starts off by describing how humans came into being - this is just pure fantasy. I would label it more as a 'self help' book than anything to do with non-duality. Sure there are some basic ideas about non-duality but they are very poorly explained and tend to suggest that the author has little understanding of the subject. If you are a Christian and want to learn about non-duality then I would recommend someone such as Fr Richard Rohr - who writes exceptionally well and will teach you a lot - you can also watch his videos on You Tube. If you are a non-Christian you can still watch or read Fr Rohr but then, steer clear of this book, go directly to the acknowledged masters such as Sri Ramana Maharishi.

Enlightening
I am working my way slowly through this book, underlining points that resonate with me. I have never read a book like it. It is helping me to understand the nature of what could be reality. It deals with the "ego-self" which needs to be understood before the true self can begin to emerge. For anyone wanting a framework for living authentically this book may well offer it. I hadn't come across some of the terminology before but I'm not put off by it. The concepts being dealt with cannot adequately be put into words but they need to be called by some names. The key to me is, "Will this book help me to discover the person I wish to be?" So far the answer is "Yes." I still have a lot more of the book to read but even if I take out of it what I've been learning in the first 64 pages it's been worth every penny.

Brilliant!
The book outlines how the ego can be destructive to the point where it blinds us. We settle into ruts, uncreative paradfigms and fail to ask questions. The divine mind is suppressed. With this fact brought to light, we can begin to undo the destructive ego and bring out the divine and creative mind that exists within us all.

An ancient pathway, explained in a unique way
An interesting take on the subject. There are many books and hundreds of spiritual teachers who deal with this, it has been explained for thousands of years. Understanding the ego and moving to a point of stillness, the point in meditation where thoughts cease is not difficult when one understands the technique, then it is possible to transcend ego and not be the mind created concepts, the I that we imagine ourselves to be.
