Help is here on Living the Course
Anyone who has picked up a " A Course in Miracles-Original Edition " [ACIM], perhaps just to find out what it is all about, realizes immediately how formidable it is. Just the size is enough to spark fear and trepidation. The TEXT of the original edition, published by Course in Miracles Society for example, is 617 pages. And that's just the TEXT. The WORKBOOK is 431 pages and the MANUAL FOR TEACHERS another 55 pages. Mercy be!And if that weren't enough to deter the prospective student, after they have opened the book and have read a few sentences, they often remark how the words seem to be arranged in a very different syntax from the usual text book and they can't seem to make immediate sense of them. And so they quite possibly put the book down.Today there many prospective students inquiring about this book called: "A Course in Miracles". And we also continue to hear of current students who are just not able to GROK it.Well help is here! Jon Mundy PhD, one of the earliest Course students, has recently published a book titled, " Living A Course in Miracles: An Essential Guide to the Classic Text ". Jon was actually introduced to the Course by the scribe Helen Schucman and co-scribe Bill Thetford a year before it was published and remained friends with both of them throughout their lives.Living A Course in Miracles is one of the best answers to the request for a book that explains the principles of ACIM and their application in a way that can be understood and appreciated. Jon Mundy brings to his discussion of these life changing ideas decades of experience as a minister as well as 42 years experience as a University professor of Philosophy and Religion. In PART I we find the BASIC TERMS and CONCEPTS; PART II is THE METAPHYSICS OF MIRACLES and PART III is LIVING THE COURSE IN MIRACLES: THE PRACTICAL APPLICATION.When I began to read this book I started with "THE PRACTICAL APPLICATION" and then returned to the beginning and read PART I and II only to discover that the beginning material was just as apropos to its APPLICATION and equally as engaging. For example, on page 44 of CHAPTER 5 in of PART I we have the section "STOP IT". Some of you may have seen the hilarious Bob Newhart episode STOP IT (video is on You Tube). Bob Newhart is a counselor who tells this women that he only charges $5 for the first five minutes and guarantees that it won't last the whole five minutes and he doesn't make change. He asks her to tell him about the problem that she wishes him to address. After she tells him her problem he tells her two words, "STOP IT". She says I can't and he replies, "We don't go there. Just Stop IT!" Each time she tries to blame it on anything outside of herself he just keeps telling her we don't go there. The solution is, quite simply: STOP IT!Jon adds that "Correction is not, of course, always so instantaneous but the principle remains the same. Not until I realize that I have a choice and I decide to follow the Voice for God, can I indeed make that decision."What brings his book truly alive is how Jon implements these Principles within the full tapestry of his life, using his full repertoire of knowledge and experience as context. The result is a heartfelt and richly expressed journey through the IDEAS of this incredible tome that will not only help you understand and implement "A Course in Miracles" but one which you will truly enjoy reading.

One of the Best ACIM Books out there!
If you are into ACIM, I highly rec'd this book. Mundy is a long-time student of ACIM and he has many insightful stories and helpful revelations regarding the process of adopting ACIM ideas & lessons into your thinking. Jon Mundy is a plain speaker, and can clear up a lot of misunderstandings in re to ACIM ideas and concepts. The Course is not an easy road to travel, but Mundy brings some fun to it, and he can bring a smile to your face when you most need it. If you are a serious Course student, or just want to find out what The Course is saying, Mundy is an excellent teacher. This book is well worth your money, and you will probably re-visit parts of it over-and-over.But I am probably not your typical ACIM student, I find a lot of humor in The Big Blue Book, (ACIM), and Jon M. has a way ofbringing that humor to the forefront, as most good ACIM teachers manage to do.After all, if we are really not here, why not have some fun with the ideas while we believe we are here.So many ACIM concepts are so mind-blowing, it is essential to keep it light sometimes, or the magnitude of 'the error' can seem smothering. As Einstein is reported to have said: "Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one."I have to agree. And therein lies the humor; or should I say the irony? LOL.

Brilliant
Its contents on Forgiveness and attaining acceptance of self and others has become so helpful to me. I sleep better, worry less, forgive faster, and am less judgmental of myself and others.Great writing. It is essentially about reaching christ-like qualities aspirationally. Or any other person who has attained mastery: Buddah, Etc...

The CliffsNotes to understanding A Course in Miracles!
I have been reading/studying The Course in Miracles for 25 years, and know of no better book in helping one understanding it at its essence and in the most straightforward way. My husband and a couple of friends love ACIM, but often find it dense, even daunting. I recommended this book to them jokingly (yet not) referring to it as the CliffsNotes to A Course in Miracles. The author has been living and teaching A Course in Miracles from its inception, and personally knew Dr. Helen Schucman, the scribe of ACIM.

A Wonderful, Inspiring and Beautifully Written Book
I've spent years reading Eckhart Tolle's books and was looking to go deeper. Don't get me wrong, Tolle has been -- and still is -- very important and is very deep. But this book uses as a basis the amazing "A Course in Miracles." Mundy's book stands on it's own but it is also intended to be a sort of study guide to ACIM. Jon Mundy personally knew Helen Schucman and has his own insights and relationship with the development of ACIM.I bought this book because I was fascinated with ACIM but found it dense and at times hard to read. Mundy's book quotes extensively from ACIM but adds his own interpretation. He also tells the reader how to access the book and study it. For me it has been a valuable tool to deeper understanding. I also want to add that the book is nicely designed with many quotes from different sources and chapters which progress logically and provide illumination both to ACIM and to life and spirituality in general.I highly recommend this book both on its own merits and as a companion to ACIM.

A valuable companion to the study of the Course in Miracles
If you are a student of the Course or you want to be, this is an excellent guide. Clearly written, covers the main ideas of the Course in a way that makes the reading of the Course so much better. Like many others, I have plodded along with the Course at times, being at best overwhelmed and at the least lost, by the different perspective it teaches. I have been greatly helped by the writing of Marianne Williamson and now Jon Mundy. Now reading the Course is a powerful experience where I know what is being said and why and am able to make instant application. The Course's teachings are life-changing and a very personal study that can cause deep internal shifts. If you are ready to do it, commit to it each day, and read Jon Mundy and Marianne Williamson, and you will be on your way. It will be well worth it!!

Finally!
I just finished reading, Living A Course In Miracles. For years the book A Course In Miracles has been sitting on my bookshelf. I have made a few attempts to read it and have always been so overwhelmed by it that I just never dedicated myself to learning from it. Then I read Jon Mundy's book, and I thought, FINALLY, something that truly makes sense to me and something I have always known in my heart all along! Dr Mundy's book resonated with me and I was prompted to pick up ACIM once again. Jon Mundy has a way of describing the passages that made sense to me and I enjoyed reading the added antidotes and personal experience that made the message of ACIM easier to understand. While I still find the actual book A Course In Miracles rather daunting, I comprehend it's powerful message and profound significance, and thanks to Living A Course in Miracles, I am encouraged to follow through with it's directive.

ACIM Companion
I have been a student to ACIM for 25 years and although I have not felt the need to purchase books related to A Course in Miracles, this book is written to help the reader understand the course in a simple and concise manner. A Course in Miracles is written beautifully and trains the mind to see the world from a place of love, however for many readers it is also a very challenging text to read. Living a Course in Miracles: An Essential Guide to the Classic Text, is very helpful in reviewing the principles in simpler language. This book is well worth reading and stands on it own as a spiritual guide.

Not quite what I was looking for.
Maybe my expectations were out of Iine. I had hoped for some clarification of the cryptic text in A Course In Miracles. Instead, this book is even more confusing. Prefer Return To Love by Marianne Williamson for ease of understanding but it does not offer as much depth as I would like.

great book
if you are a student of a course in miracles this is a wonderful companion book, if not even a novice could benefit from this publication, this is something a person could read over and over again as our mind will always benefit.
