I’m so pleased with these chafing dishes! The racks are very sturdy and can be collapsed for storage when not in use. The water pan and food pan are a bit sharp on the edges, but nothing that can’t be smoothed out with some steel wool. The rack can hold the lid upright for serving, and the sterno holders look just as I remembered, with a little sliding lid to extinguish the flame. [the sterno is sold separately.]. All pieces are high gloss aluminum and are suitable for wedding or other gatherings. Well worth the cost.

I ordered these chafing dishes for a party we were holding and serving heavy pasta entrees. I was very impressed with the sturdiness of these serving pieces. They held the large pans of lasagna and fettucine with no problems whatsoever. For the price for two full servers, I was expecting them to be more flimsy, but they were very heavyweight and the stainless steel pans are very nice. They even come with half size pans, if needed, lidded containers for the sterno cans that you can partially close to reduce the heat, and gloves for lifting the hot pans. They were much better than I expected for the money. The only problem I really had was the lid - it fits fine, and you can get it to hook on the back of the pan to hold it open, but the little clips for that are small and tricky to get if you are not very tall. I would just take the lid and place it sideways on the top of the server and it worked fine for me.

This was perfect for Thanksgiving. Good quality and easy to put together. It kept all our food warm.

Upon opening, seemed like a great set of two chafing dishes with full and divided warming trays. Quick set-up of the folding stand. Seamed sturdy enough. Certainly seemed would be easy to clean too. So, onward I went to completely set up one of the two. I Paid attention to how it was packed! (in case needed to repack for return if necessary. All went well, and looked as a chafing dish should work fine.But - -Oh yes; The top cover... Good luck on EASILY "flipping the top cover back onto a catch clip at the back side of the dish. Those catches are tucked under the lip at a very difficult angle to easily get to. The effort to do this are ridiculous. Basically impossible or clumsy for a guest to politely place the cover on the back clips if removing to access food being kept warm, and will probably give up putting it back on the back cover. After giving up, will probably the cover on the table (making a mess). The clip holds the top in a flimsy, bouncy manner, and at a 45-degree angle to the rear... occuping lots of space behind the dish if you should need that space. Just as hard for anyone to easily remove it from rear to replace the top on the dish.I have and have had chafing dishes that are much smoother and very easy to simply flop the top backwards and catch it on the chafing dish. Also have the top supported onto the dish at a higher angle of rest, and be secure. This set is not the case. - - - But, if you're going to leave the top off all the time through the serving cycle ..all else seems well.

Pros: Very sturdy and professional looking. I previously paid $80 to rent two chafing dishes and wish I'd have known about these beforehand!Cons: Although these are well packaged for shipping, it was EXTREMELY difficult to separate the large bottom pieces from each other. I was worried it would bend them but eventually they came apart.
