Great for the price
Got this for my husband to clerk track meets so he could give the runners their instructions and he loved it and the price was great. We didn't want to spend a lot of money for something that might not work and won't be used very often.

AWESOME!!!!!
This is exactly what I was looking for. I purchased it for a Women’s Empowerment Brunch. I love hands free speech engagement without the travel of heavy equipment when speaking to small groups! I took it for a test run and it’s perfect!! I’m ordering another one on tomorrow. I give it 5 Stars

Small audio PA
It does what it claims to do. Amplifies the inputs. Added wireless Lavalier microphones and it is a very nice small puppet theater audio booster for kids theater.the audio is strong enough for a 20 ft x 20 ft room ... it is not a system for a Grateful Dead copy band, but for small PA for a living room or small conference room size facility, it works!!

Not a clean sound at all
I tested this speaker in the field using it for bird calls. Bass type sounds can be distorted. Treble sounds are cleaner than bass sounds. Overall, the sound is loud but lots of extra noise, hissing and some distortion. Forget about playing music with this speaker. The right 3.5mm auxillary cable is important. I tried a couple and it did not work. One produced no sound until I pressed the jack end tighter against the speaker input. Another cable reproduced a warbling sound. Finally found a cable that worked. I suspect customers who complained about the unit not working may have used a not so good auxillary cable/jack.The pros are: cheap price, portable size, loudThe cons are: distorted sound especially bass, not for music, can be finicky far as auxillary cable or.jack is comcernedUses: bird calls that need to be played back loud and where extra noise and hiss in sound may be less noticeable the farther you are away from the speaker (up close the sound distortion is very noticeable). Have not tried using it as a portable PA yet.I may return this and get a Jawbone Big Jambox . A big jump in price but you get much better sound quality.Update. I kept this and did not return. You need the proper fitting 3.5mm cable. I found the ones that Best Buy Canada sells worked the best (forget the brand now). I tried a couple of cables from some computer shops and they did not work with sound clipping in and out. I thought all 3.5mm cables were the same but obviously they are not based on my experience which surprised me. The sound is much cleaner and clearer with the proper fitting cable.Updated October 11, 2016. I have had this unit for less than 1 year. The green light no longer comes on to indicate unit is fully charged. Charging starts by having power light on unit blinking between green and red. Then it turns solid red and stays that colour even after over 8 hours connected to the charger. This is my second time charging it in one year. That is how sparingly I used it, maybe 4 times in one year. I hope the red light staying lit is OK but the manual said it should turn to green when fully charged.

Great help for music teachers!
I am a music teacher and purchased this to protect against vocal strain during the busy concert preparation season. Love it!! It was so helpful and really did save my voice. My students thought is was funny when they first saw my with it but I did a "Welcome to McDonalds. May I take your order?" and they laughed then got over it. Now they call it my McDonalds headset. I wear the amplifier/speaker across my body with the included strap rather than around my waist - just works better for me that way. Also, as a vain woman who doesn't want her hair messed up (LOL!), I wear the microphone headband around my neck and raise the microphone up toward my mouth rather than wearing around the back of my head. Works just fine that way and is actually more comfortable. Very happy I bought this!!

Extra Batteries
My husband does Historic Guided Tours where we live and has for several years. He loves this unit. Works very well. The ones we have are two years old and both batteries seem to be having issues.. We've tried to find the correct battery online.. I actually ordered one that came today and it's the wrong one..Is there any way to order an extra battery or two after we place an order? We are going to have to order one for now and probably another at some point to have for a back up.Again, this is not a negative review. My husband has been very happy with these. We'd just love to find a way to get a few extra batteries.. Can someone from the company help us?

and I was pleased to find this portable
As a teacher, I am always looking for ways to save my voice, and I was pleased to find this portable, cordless, affordable device. It clips to my waistband or belt, and most of the time, I'm not even aware it's there. The amplification is plenty for inside my classroom; it works outside as well. The battery lasts throughout my teaching day and I plug it in after school. For the price, the sound is way better than I expected. All in all, I am very pleased and would recommend it to a friend. The one problem I had was due to a faulty charger that broke apart and exploded in sparks when I unplugged it from the amp. I went to the Pyle-Pro website and was frustrated that I couldn't find an email address or phone number. I had to create a ticket. I didn't hear back from the company, so after about 10 days, I went back to the site and left a message with my ticket. This time, I got a robo-email, but it didn't say anything about replacing the part.I began to worry, but two days later, a new charger appeared in my mailbox. Since then it has worked perfectly. To sum up, I love the product, but when I had to replace a defective plug, I found the service a bit unwieldy.

light weight and powerful
My son loves the Pyle-Pro portable amp that we purchase for him to use for his juggling performances. We are just hoping for the novelty to wear off soon so that we can return the house to a normal volume!
