EDIT: This USA-Made Cord is a BEAST! (Warning Added! Please READ!)
I received this thing today via UPS while I happened to be using my suite of electric lawn care tools. I have a 16 ga cord with a ratty plug and a 12 ga that I accidentally cut through. I plan on having both fixed, but the thinner one always gets warm when using my 110V MIG welder or any higher draw tool under continuous draw. When I chopped through my better cord the other day I decided to buy a *nice* extension cord. This one came highly recommended, and I see why.I used to assemble telecommunications patch cables (with rather complex triaxial connectors) so I have some knowledge regarding electrical cabling construction and quality. This is top-shelf stuff, here, and made in the US. I started using it within fifteen minutes of the package arriving and it never got warm. It is very heavy, though, compared to the cheapo, orange, no-name extension cords that I bought at big box stores in the past. There is real meat in these. The illuminated female socket is nice, though I never use these in the dark. Someday it may turn out to be a boon, though. More importantly, I am pleased with how tough and heavy this cord is. It may be overkill unless I am welding or running my air compressor full out, but I am glad I bought this. I plan on getting the 100 foot one and a cable reel at Christmas. Highly recommended!_______________EDIT: I wrote my review, and then, for whatever reason, came back to read the NEGATIVE reviews of this product. (Normally I do this *before* buying something on Amazon.) It seems that Amazon lumps *all* reviews of a product into one package and displays them for a product regardless of who is selling it. If you are selling a product listed as "US Wire and Cable 74050, 50ft, Yellow" and you are US Wire and Cable, the reviews that show up in your ads ALSO INCLUDE reviews for products listed as "US Wire and Cable 74050, 50ft, Yellow" that are offered by other sellers. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT THING TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT AMAZON REVIEWS!!!After reading all the one- and two-star reviews I became alarmed that perhaps I had received a Chinese or Indonesian cable that can cause a fire. I looked at photos, I read, and then I trotted off to my trash to fish out this cable's cardboard sleeve. Many here complained that the sleeve clearly stated "Made in China" or the like. I was sure mine didn't but felt that I needed to confirm what I have here. Also, several reviews mention a specific seller as being a ripoff artist.I was relieved to read the sleeve and the tag on the cord, to inspect it, and to comfortably believe that I got a genuine US Wire and Cable product. I was also pleased to see that the seller of the cord I bought was listed as US Wire and Cable and not that Best Whatever scumbag seller.Since this seems to have been an issue between 2018 and 2020 my photos and warnings may not be of any use to anyone here. But if that ripoff seller is still doing his thing trying to scam people into believing they are purchasing the real cord while shipping them a dangerous fake, then my review will show up in his ads too, and hopefully prevent people from being ripped off. I have included photos of the cord as well as the sleeve so that people can compare what they receive with my pics and the pics of the fakes posted by others. Thanks for reading this far. Good luck!

A real 12/3 gauge cord
So far this cord has been a great 12 gauge cord as I use it daily at my work site. I finally had enough of the horrible import cords they buy us at work as they would get snagged on everything and I would waste half my time un-snagging them and then trying to untangle all the kinks and knots out of it. All this ended up costing me a lot of time at work, and was frankly, getting ridiculous so I decided to buy my own. This cord has none of those problems, is flexible in the cold, easily cleaned, smells nice, and is easily put back away and rarely gets snagged on things. It's also vastly superior quality to the cheap import cords and doesn't get warm (or hot) like my last supposedly 12 gauge cord even after 3+ hours of continuous use. I love the fact that it's made in the US and is cheaper than all the trash in the big box stores and like I said much better quality. The cord offers good strain relief on the plugs, has yet to work its way loose from the male and female plugs, and offers better visibility being bright yellow over the foreign import cords. I also love the lighted female end which helps me tell if it's getting power, especially as I'm moving. The female plug also has a very nice, secure, snug fit which doesn't allow the tools that are plugged into it, to work free or come loose as would often be the case with the cheap import cords. When I start my own business I certainly intend to purchase a lot of these cords as they're much better than any other cord I've worked with and offer great bang for the buck. I'm very happy with my purchase and wish I would have bought this years ago, I can only imagine how many man hours I would have saved myself over the horrible cords I've had to use for years.

Just what I needed and at a very competitive price
I recently purchased an electric lawn mower and needed a long cord for power. After looking both locally and online for a suitable product, I settled on this cord. It's a 12/3 cord, which is the gauge required for my lawn mower in a 100' cord. It's also qualified for outdoor use and the bright yellow color ensures that it's clearly visible. Also, this cord has an LED light in the connector so that you can tell at a glance if it has power. Considering that all external power outlets should be GFI protected, I find they frequently turn off (usually due to my big fingers hitting the test button while plugging in cords.)There's not much else to say... the cord is quite flexible given its gauge and winds up well. At approximately half the price of similar cords I looked at, it's an excellent value and appears well constructed. It works perfectly for my needs!Note that it's crucial to use a large gauge cord for long runs... using a cord that's too small can damage your product, so make sure to check the manufacturer's recommendations. A 12/3 cord is heavier than a 14/3 or 16/3, and so on. 12 gauge wire should carry an 1,800 watt product without difficulty. The "/3" portion of the notation means that the cord is a three-pronged cord, including a separate earth ground which is important if the cord or device is used in a damp environment.
