I'm an experienced shooter and NRA instructor. Previously I owned a different brand of electronic muff-style hearing protection, but thought I would try this one based on its reasonable price and favorable reviews. I received it within a couple days of ordering. After installing the batteries I could not get it to work. The instructions indicate the power light should come on after holding down the power button for two seconds. All it would do is flash as I held the button down. I could not get it to work. Following the instructions about contacting the company (see picture), I went to the Caldwell website and wrote a detailed message on their online form. That was about 11 days ago and I received zero response. I also tried calling their phone number but I just went on perma-hold. I can understand an occasional defective product, but there is no excuse for shoddy customer service. How long should it take to get a response from them? Why can't they answer the phone? I cannot recommend this product or the company. Life is too short to waste your time with them.

Got this as a cheap spare pair a buddy can use on the range. And no complaints, it does exactly what you'd want it to. cancel out bad noises and amplifies good ones. button controls are a bit meh if you have gloves on but thats hardly an issue.

Definitely prefer the walker brand electronic ear protection. But this does what it’s supposed to do for half the price, no complains on purchasing these. Just after review I’d go with the walker brand.

The reason for 1 star it was <DOA> out of the box and the on / off button is joke who ever designed this should know when you have take off headset too see if <on or off> at a gun range is not worth the money I used other Caldwell ear pro and like them this model is just a waste of money
