Good coverage, will buy more for larger applications
I bought these to go with LIPAVI Sous Vide Container - Model C20 - 26 Quarts - 21 x 12.8 inch - Strong & Clear See-thought Polycarbonate - Matching L20 Rack and Tailored Lids for virtually every circulator sold separately. . Due to the size of the container, I was not sure if one bag was going to be enough, so I reached out to the seller and they were quick to respond that the bag was intended for smaller containers, so I would likely need more. Based on that, I bought two. I got the opportunity to try them out this weekend and as you can see in the picture, two bags will almost provide a two layer coverage on the container in question. I'd really prefer a complete second layer of coverage, so I will be buying a third bag, as I am happy with their performance.I also used them with heating an item in a large pot, and they worked out wonderfully.Easy to rinse and dry, and stores nicely with the included mesh bag.

It's balls.
Would normally rate this 5 stars, because really it's just plastic balls. But the drying bag the balls came in had a faulty seam and I only noticed as I lifted it out of the packaging. Try to imagine the sound of a hundred little plastic balls hitting hardwood floor, then bouncing and rolling into every corner of the house. Minus 1 star. The marinade injector seems pretty cheap and may not last long but it was a nice bonus.

Awful smell after long cook times
I've been cooking sous vide for a while now. I recently bought a new machine, one with WiFi. I also bought these hoping they worked better than plastic wrap. I cooked with them for 4 hrs and they were great, but then you don't need them for that short cooking time. I then decided to cook beef short ribs for 72 hrs. I always use vacuum bags for everything. When i removed the beef, this smell came from inside the bag. I thought the beef was bad, maybe bad marrow. I threw it away and tried again. It happened the 2nd time. My wife thought enough to smell one of the balls floating on the top. It had the same smell, a chemically plasticy smell that was putrid. I decided to do it a third time double bagging my food. The smell still seeped through both bags. Yikes. I'm now going to do a 72 hr beef without the balls like I used to do. If you don't see any updates after this, it is these balls ... and don't buy them. Otherwise, with egg on my face, I'll report the truth. It is possible that my new machine is putting out the smell into the water although I find that hard to believe. I know it isn't my plastic bin because I've been using that for years.

Does the job
I use these for sous vide in a container that does not have a cover, such as a Dutch oven. They do seem to reduce the evaporative loss of water. My goal is t be able to leave the house for a few hours and not have to worry about replenishing the water.

These sous vide balls have exceeded my expectations
Although some have used a lid cut to conform to their sous vide cooker, I have found that to be a limited solution because that one lid might not fit other containers. These sous vide balls fit whatever container there put into, and really do help to keep the target temperature as well as limit the amount of water loss by condensation. I didn't think it would be through until I saw it with my own eyes.

Work as advertised. Just not enough of them.
They work as advertised but 250 isn't sufficient unless you're using a large pot. I use a polyurethane tub. Had to buy a second 250 to completely cover the water. Other than that they do as advertised. The supplied drying bag works great.

A must for sous vide
Works well with open container to help prevent evaporation and keep the water bath temp steady . I work as a chef but got this for home and does a good job

Not perfect but they serve some purpose
There are plenty of them and they probably do a decent job of keeping the heat and moisture in. My only issue is that they're really buoyant; I was hoping they'd be close to neutral as far as buoyancy goes, so they could keep items from floating.
