Spear & Jackson 6160Bs Razorsharp Premium Bypass Pruners, 22 x 6.5 x 2.5 cm

I like these so much better than Corona brand, which are easily available in local stores but never seem to keep sharp for long. The handle shape for the S& J is great and comfortable and razor-sharpness is true. The only fault is the red handle covers slip off, but not a big deal as I glued it on, otherwise I would have rated five stars.

dangerous to push rubber lock into place nearly pushes on to blade.apart from that they cut very well.

I bought these as a cheap replacement for a long-owned pair of Felco secateurs. The Spear & Jackson ones are OK but I wouldn't buy them again, indeed I've since shelled out for a new pair of my old Felcos. The S&J ones cut well, but don't sit as comfortably in the hand. The lock to keep them shut is only made of plastic, and seems to keep getting in the way when I'm using these secateurs too. The build quality, again, is OK but in comparison the Felcos are so much sturdier and likely to last much longer.

First things first you would expect better from a world renowned firm like Spear & Jackson , The first thing that went wrong was the small screw fell out that holds the blade in place, S&J don't stock this item but the vendor agreed to send me one problem solved . then the clip that holds the secateurs closed started to engage when I was cutting ( a real pain ) and now the red rubber handles have started to slip and come off. The blades are very sharp and cut very well but these small problems let them down. I would not buy the same again. The second pair that I bought for my mother has gone the same way as the first pair utter rubbish, I have Since found out these are made in the back of beyond. Don't be fooled by the Spear & Jackson name nothing is made in the uk anymore. I will by Felco next time.
