Got the camera working in less than 10 minutes
I open the package about 10 minutes ago and already have the unit up-and-running. Here, more or less, is the sequence I used to get it running: I plugged in the power and waited for the camera to boot. This takes maybe thirty seconds and you'll see the pan-and-tilt exercised shortly before going active. Next I downloaded the MIPC app (couldn't they think of a better name?) onto my android phone from Google Play. The first step, after you open the application, is to scan the QR code on the base of the camera. Using this information the app will now attempt to connect through your home router to a remote server (which enables you to access the camera remotely). Assuming your router is configured with WPA/2 encryption, you will be prompted for your router's client password. You will also need to keep the camera close to your phone during this process - there appears to be some kind of audible exchange between the camera and the phone (I'm guess this is part of a validation procedure). Throughout this process you do get spoken indications of your progress. If all goes well the graphic showing your camera linking to the web goes green and you are ready to go. You can now select your (new) camera from the list presented - a green dot indicates the device is connected. Note that during camera setup you will be asked to create a new password.I also downloaded the MIPC application to my home PC. You login with the awkward device id and your new password. The menu system in the application is easier to use than the phone version - beyond getting a live feed, move the camera and conversing with whoever is at the camera, the more interesting functions are found in the "settings" menu (top-left on the main screen). That's where you find items such as motion-detect settings. So I strongly recommend you download this application and explore the camera's capabilities! The software experience, while functional and adequate, is somewhat "joyless". But it does work! I read many reviews which expressed problems achieving connectivity and getting access to certain features. However I experienced no significant issues. I am speculating the reason for distress may be the poorly translated instructions which do not do justice to the product. Neither the instructions nor the application are fully westernized. My recommendation would be to either engage a British or American developer to westernize the product guide and apps; or, better still, publish the User Interface software as Open Source on Github (or some other repository) so a community of individuals such as myself can work on making the program more attractive and desirable. Ideally the software should sell the hardware! My initial experiences with this camera were generally very positive - setup was quick and straight-forward. I am now going to mount the camera and get some real-world experience before updating this review again. In particular I am going to switch from wireless to wired (because I don't want to burn up wifi bandwidth when I have an rj45 port available. The 1 star off is for the awkwardness of the documentation and because the camera appeared to have been previously opened and used -the seal on the box was broken and the Quick Install Guide had a few pen-written notes scribbled on it. However since the camera worked out-of-the-box I'm not too concerned!

User friendly setup and App.
This camera is a good camera that is super user friendly. I was able to setup this camera in a matter of minutes. It really could not be any simpler. I will say, when I was looking to purchase a camera, I was more concerned with access to the feed through an app. I did not want to pay for service and still wanted to stream and see the recordings. I initially bought this device to try out and potentially return if it was not suitable for my needs. Needless to say, I still have the camera. The app is super user friendly. You can pan, tilt, and zoom the camera easily by swiping your finger up, down, left, right, and pinching the screen. The quality really is 1080. Just remember, if you don’t have a good internet connection, you will see a degraded picture when you are streaming (NOT A LEGITIMATE REASON FOR A CRAPPY REVIEW GUYS). I was able to access the stream and download snapshots and videos.I will say the motion sensor does work, but a little too well. I have been playing with the sensitivity which is easily adjustable. Unfortunately, my cameras point of view looks out a window where cars and people walk by which trigger the motion sensor often. It does not bother me at all, I just clear the notifications or turn them off. I still have the peace of mind that if something does happen, it will be recorded and I will catch who was responsible. You can have multiple devices connected to the same app and easily switch between cameras. You can also add up to 4 different schedules to automatically record. At anytime you can easily enable recording remotely as well. I cannot stress how happy I am with the simplicity and functionality of this camera.

Decent
Overall 3 out of 5. Video is good and clear and colorful, except when zooming in. A little pixelated. Very slow moving camera when panning on the video stream on your cell. Takes about 3-4 seconds to actually move the camera lens. Audio out of my cell from the camera is good. However when the volume is turned up all the way on the app, the audio out of my cell sounds like I have termites in my walls where the camera is, munching on the wood. Don't know where this noise is eminating from. Audio out of the camera when talking into the cell is horrible and lagging. Barely a whisper. I have sent several emails in to see what the problem is but no replied help as of yet. Set up was kind of hard, couldn't set up wireless. I had to hard wire it in order to complete the install. I bought this to keep an eye out on my dog from work. It works fine for this purpose. Thankfully my dog has good hearing, otherwise it wouldn't be able to hear me.

Worthless
The camera is fine...when it works. The app is dreadful, the website isn't much better. I have alerts that don't have any movement (I know, could be wind), but there are dozens of times that people walk by the camera and it's not recorded!!! I'm watching my contractors and they are here all day. I can watch them work and walk right by the camera. I get an alert, but the recording doesn't include anything--it's not even the right recording. There are ghosts where a recording from months ago suddenly reappears and then when you try to view it, it changes to the current alert. I've formatted my SD card twice and these ghost recordings still appear. The app crashes more often than not and while I was vacationing, the app forgot the device altogether. Since I didn't think to take a photo of the QR code on the camera, the camera was useless for me when I needed it most. If you click on their website you get: page cannot be found. Worthless. Update 9/27/2018. Ok it's been a couple of years and the app has been updated numerous times. Still, I can jump up and down in front of the camera and not get an alert or a recording. However, I get constant recordings that contain no movement. I can only assume that the app can't tell the difference and just randomly records something in hopes it catches some movement. Again. This app is worthless.
