#2 batch is Perfect
#1 batch was not the usual consistency mushy and runny. My dog backed away from it. He usually loves it. Poor quality product. Not what I expected from Natural Balance or Amazon. It was so bad I wondered if it was really a natural balance product. Opened and discarded 3 cans.I decided to try delivery from Amazon one more time after calling Natural Balance to check on quality. I gave the remaining cans of first batch to my sister - her dogs loved it. I reordered another batch from Amazon and this batch is perfect. Apparently thickness of product can vary because of natural ingredients.

Something odd about this batch...
Important to note: product description states that cranberry powder is used in their foods (it is not), and it reads that the main ingredient is Ocean fish (it is not).Update: spoke with Kalise from Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance on 09-28-2015 at 12:29 pm, edt. She said that Amazon wrote the product description, the misinformation on ocean fish being the main ingredient (it is listed as the 7th ingredient) and the cranberry. She said they never add cranberry powder to these canned products. She commented that Amazon might have old cans (even though these do not expire until 2018). She suggested I contact Amazon for a refund. Also, she said would look into why this batch was runny. I do not believe Amazon is to blame for everything. I then contacted Amazon, and I will be refunded. I reordered Wellness soon after.Initial review: Sweet Potato & Fish formula: I received the 12 pack, 6 ounce cans today. All three of my Chihuahua & Yorkie-Chihuahuas absolutely did not touch this food which is extremely odd because they are accustomed to having sweet potatoes (home baked), sardines, Omega 3s, and salmon on a weekly basis---one is 8 yrs old, another is 14, and the youngest "piggy" is under 2 yrs old. It's not like it's their first time with these types of ingredients. The food has the consistency of watery potatoes. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be like that. The expiration is "Best by 06-28-18," also stamped 5180AW SFN 13:04 ( identifies which plant manufactured this batch along with the time).FYI: the dogs have eaten this brand before. And, no...no can was dented. Fast delivery, too.Sorry about the blurry pics. You might have to click to enlarge.

2nd time order dog food was too liquidity! Beware
I get this all the time from the pet store and never had a problem. Not sure what happened but the 1st time I ordered this dog food the texture was fine but the 2nd time I ordered from this same seller the texture was liquidity. Not sure if the 2nd order was a bad batch from the company

healthy for my dog
My dog suffered a stroke and needed to eat soft foods until he got better. This is way better than the gross canned food offered at my vet's office. This doesn't have the gross wet food smell either. I normally feed my dog the dry food from this company. Never have any issues. I highly recommend!

My dog won't eat it
It's got a slimy texture, I was hoping it's more like a loaf kind. The ingredients sound nutritious, but my dog won't eat it, and I tried to put a fresh one each time for three days, but not a bite, unfortunately.

Great quality dog food and good for dogs with food allergies.
Doesn't bother my dog with allergies and he loves it . Like any new dog food you have to work in with regular food gradually so their stomach gets used to it. Every dog food you start feeding your dog for the first time should be fed this way.

Change in ingredients leaves horrible texture and less desireable taste for my dog...
Besides changing the label design they changed the texture and obviously the taste of this dog food. I think they must have added more water. My dog has food allergies and this is the only canned food she can eat. She loved it before but it is obvious she doesn't care for it now. She is a 16 lbs wire fox terrier that would gobble up a small can. She only eats about half of it now. Luckily she likes the dry and I substitute it to make up the difference. Hopefully enough people will complain so that they change the ingredients back to what it was.

My picky pug likes it.
I like Natural Balance products because I have a pug with lots of skin allergies. She is also a picky eater so it has been a challenge finding something that she likes and doesn't make her break out. This particular formula is a bit runny, so I mix it with the duck formula to thicken it up. She laps it right up and the extra water in the mixture adds to her hydration.
