Good overall
Bought this for my son. He loves it (once we got it fixed).I had to order this twice and turns out it had pretty much the same problem. One handle is loose and seems to get more wobbly over time. It appears that the screws in the handles come lok-tighted, which you think would be great. On the first trainer, we tried to use the tools it came with to loosen it, so we could reapply the lok-tight. Turns out they did too good of a job with it. The screw wouldn't let us tighten or loosen it. Rather than stripping it or making it a "too far gone" problem, we returned it for another.2nd trainer came with the exact same loose handle problem. It starts out somewhat loose and just gets worse. However, on the 2nd trainer, we were able to get the screw out, apply new lok-tight, then tightened back up. It's been working great ever since.Overall, this is a great trainer and I would recommend it, with a side of caution.

Simply not worth it. Let me explain
Okay, so I own higher end and lower end balis to compare them and gauge which offers best bang for buck depending on price point so I can give suggestions to friends. Looking at this knife for a beginner, I'd say to pass this by. The build is great all around except for where it counts. My pivots came stripped and all they do is slide when I try to loosen them. Yep. Theyre stuck. That's not the issue though cause the tolerances are actually perfect. No tap, no play. So why the negative review? The bearings and the way it feels is awful beyond words. It is extremely bad. When the handles swing it looks fine to the naked eye but you can feel just how rough the swing actually is. It only swings freely due to the bearings and even then it's just not right. Like it's out of sync. The blade and handles aren't properly synced in movement due to the rough handle swing. This makes it super hard to do tricks like behind the 8 ball or a helix. Because the responsiveness just isn't there which means you have to force the trick all the way through. I'd save your money and get something like the new triton by squid, any of the upper end bbbarfly products (especially the firefly), maxace trainers, or the upper end squid trainers like the nautilus or Kraken. Sure, it'll cost you a bit more depending on which model you go with, but you'll get a better feel for the hobby and it will be easier to learn. If you find you don't like the hobby, you can sell that trainer on Instagram via the hashtag #balisongsale and sell it on there to make most of your money back so long as the knife is in decent condition still.

It’s alright
Nice for a trainer knife, definitely going to need some thread lock to keep it from falling apart though

Good but one of my handle screws is super tight.
Very good for the money, it looks nice but you need to tune it first
