Tines are too soft
I had high hopes for this cultivator. I purchased it to maintain my flower beds. It actually works well in soft soil. The problem is the steel of the tines is too soft. If you hit rocks or stubborn roots, like those of hay scented ferns (Dennstaedtia punctilobula), the scourge of New England flower gardens, the tines bend. The harder you pull, the more they bend. At this point, when I hit obstructions, I have to switch tools. I will continue to use it to loosen and amend the topsoil; it just not as useful as it could be.

Versatile and useful tool.
I do a lot of gardening, and stonework. This is one of my four essential tools for general use on so many projects. I let an employee try it out, and he was very impressed with the versatility of the Asano. I bought him one to help with his work projects, and he has come to depend on its usefulness on many projects also. Thank you for this tool. Incidentally, I had previously purchased a different Asano, with shorter handle; although I do occasionally use it, or allow another employee to try it, I much prefer the balance that this particular Asano offers, which is why I was interested upon finding it for sale. I wasn't disappointed with my purchase. It is a great tool.
