Air intake VERY Poor Design
There are real and substantial issues with the air intake on this stove, in my opinion.1) You would think that as you move the handle from right to left, you would get a continual increase in the air intake, but if you look underneath at the cover on the air intake as you move the handle, it sure doesn't look like a continually increasing amount of air flow. It's a weird design.2) The air intake hole inside the firebox is at the front-bottom (I believe) and I believe it gets clogged very easily with ashes.3) Whether I clear the ashes away from that air intake hole or not, I have found that I cannot close the door because it suffocates the fire in no time. As a result, you've got to keep the door open until you've got a roaring fire with plenty of coals burning before you can close the door. In the meantime, you've got smoke pouring out the front door and into your house. Then, when you close the door (with a good bed of coals and fire going well,) it will still slow the burn down hugely but at least it will continue to burn the wood down to be all ashes. So once you get a good fire going, you could stuff it with wood and get an overnight burn.I think the air intake should have a much larger opening to allow a lot more air to flow in, as needed. One more issue - years ago, I used to have a Quadrafire stove (way more expensive). The after-burn tubes at the top of the firebox in the Quadrafire - you would actually see little jets of fire - doing an after-burn of the smoke before it goes up the flu. No matter how hot I get this stove burning, I never see the jets of fire coming out of those tubes at the top of the firebox. (I'm not advocating for Quadrafire cuz one woodstove store told me they come out of China, and I would rather have American-made or Canada-made.)This has been my experience, thus far. Wish I could return it.

Nice unit
The fresh air intake needs to be a little larger. Needs door just a bit open. Tends to smoke into the room.
