Q: Is it possible to order the standard seat part separately, so that I can switch between the saddle and a more typical seat? I would like that option.

I actually took this saddle seat off and put it on the DR.LOMILOMI Ergonomic Kneeling Chair, which has a better knee rest and a hydraulic height adjustment. A lot of these chairs are made from standard parts from Chinese manufacturers and have interchangeable parts. However, it is hit or miss with that. This Vivo chair is fairly well designed and made compared to many of the kneeling chairs that I have tried. To this Viv Chair, I use a RaoRanDang Car Seat Cushion Pad to make it softer.

Q: Has anyone been using this chair as a saddle stool (resting both feet or just one on the ground)? How convenient is it with frame and pad in front?

I have done this - sitting/kneeling in any one position for too long gets uncomfortable so I usually wind up shifting position several times. I've put my feet on the floor, on the knee pads, one foot up and one down, etc. The knee pads do get in the way a bit if I have both feet in front but having one leg between them and one slightly to the side, or knees apart with feet slightly outside the knee pads works. Adjusting the angle of the seat and pads might also help. I agree with others that the seat is hard - more so than I expected. The knee pads are fine.
