Gets the Basics Wrong
The game of Top Trumps is simple and fun, and great for kids. This particular cards, however don't get the appeal of the game beyond just comparing numbers. The Marvel universe is full of colourful characters, and part of the fun is comparing their card stats - who is the strongest, fastest etc, and these ratings need to make sense for an added sense of immersion.Here, however, the categories are not measurable things, and even include the nebulous "Top Trumps Rating" - what is that? Even a category that seems self explanatory - Strength - is nebulous. Does it refer to physical strength? It seems to for some characters, such as the beefy Abomination, but then some cards are entire organisations - how does that work? Also, some characteristics appear to be out of 100, whilst others are out of 30. I can see no earthly reason for this, and it prevents many of the variant ways of playing the game.No immersion, no engagement to get the kids involved. I feel I've wasted my money.
