Q: Will a size 8 slipper be too large for a woman who wears a 7 1/2 size shoe?

I wear a size 6 and they fit me perfectly with a little room to spare. I would go with the 71/2.

Q: Can these be washed? What's the best way to clean the inside?

I do not see why not. Everything can be washed if it needs to be. It is good to brush the outside to clean it each week.

Q: are they truly waterproof? i know the suede is but what about the "felt tongue and vamp"?

I walked through the snow and rain with them, and my feet didn't get wet at all.
